About Landsbanki

I'm an academic. I teach undergrad level stats and game theory (amongst other things) which definitely helps with poker! I only get time to play about 10 hours max a week and often a lot less as I'm too busy with work plus I have two young kids.

I mainly play low stakes holdem, prefering the shorter 6 seater turbos although I'm playing more 9-seaters now having realised you can maintain a higher ROI on them.

I'm currently ranked 4th (1st on Stars) on the sharkscope Holdem 5-6seated turbo $5.01-$15 average profit leaderboard playing a mixture of 6$ and 12$ Holdem tables on Stars. My last 500 game average is $3.50 with an ROI of 28%

I did also reach 12th on the Holdem 5-6seated turbo $2.01-$5 average profit leaderboard playing 3$ holdem on Stars averaging $0.87 over 500 games. I've since slipped right off that leaderboard. I'm currently making another run at that leaderboard on Cereus playing $5 tables.

223 games in I'm averaging $1.80 per game with an ROI of 33% which would put me on course for 1st.

I'm also making a run at a few other leaderboards

Holdem 5-6 seated $5.01-$15 average profit - 131 games in playing 6$ and 12$ tables on Stars I'm averaging $4.19 a game with an ROI of 39% - which would put me 3rd on that leaderboard.

Holdem 9-10 seated $2.01-$5 average profit leaderboard - 124 games in on Stars averaging $2.26 per game with an ROI of 41% - this would also put me 2nd on that leaderboard.

I also play a few higher stakes (well for me!) in the 20-36$ range on Stars but only after finding out of their depth donks using tournament selector. Once you've reach the $15 level tournament selector is a must on Stars as there's lots of sharks circling at this mid-range level.

I uncovered a major collusion ring on Cereus. I originally spotted the anomoly using sharkscope and with the help of sharkscope admin and another sharkscope user uncovered the full extent of the cheating. Hundreds of players got $10,000s back. I received nothing as didn't even play on Cereus at the time. It was all thanks to sharkscope that I picked up the ridiculous stats this guy had on a leaderboard. It's all described in detail on thestatistician's blog.

Have tried several more times since with no luck. Tournament selector simply doesn't seem to work at all on FT which makes the tournament opener part of the HUD which was one the reasons I was...

No other goals Pharreal as I don't get time to play enough. I average less than an hour a day across the year as I don't play at all in the summer and about 1.5 hrs a day in winter.

However...

A very simple goal. Get a Sharkscope Average Profit Star on a second account. Have a gold one on Stars but aim to get at least a silver on FT (just signed up this month) before the end of 2011....

Hi Gius,

OK, I believe the graphs more now. Looks like you did just have a really long period of consistent bad luck.

Lets hope for a similarly long period of good luck!
