Playing this now and not really been in this situation before so early.

Blinds only 20 /40 $20 SNG. Solid player raises from button to 120. I'm set to re-raise before SB re-raises to 300.

I don't think I can flat and would rather get out of the way or shove. Shoving is at least representing a really strong hand but might just be representing exactly what SB has.

But is there is a good chance he's 3 betting button with AJ+, Mid pairs..

Just think it's so early to get creative / all in. So I folded.

any views?

Well, with JJ at that point I would think that you are going against at least 1 guy with an A. The only plays I see here are smooth calling and hoping original raiser doesn't shove to see if you hit your set, or folding. If you miss your set but overcards hit the flop, you prolly have to fold anyways, so I would think that folding is probably the best.

Without a spot on read of both your opps. I think folding is best. Depending on the opponent, I usually give a 3 bet from the SB(especially a small reraise) quite a bit of credit. I don't think there are too many 3 bet/resteals going on at the $20s, at least not this early in the game. And if you flat(which at this point is most likely going to be >20% of ur stack), and see a 3 way flop, how far are you going to go on a 9 high flop?

Yeh i think folding is correct here seeing as it wud be a lot of chips to spew so early on just to set mine. Also shove and a call from SB likely to be a race if not domination. Just wait for better spots and let the other 2 fight it out if they want to.

Yeah the problem is I put button on a normal steal with maybe broadway cards or something with value so I thought he'd fold which he did so I'd have been heads up with the SB and in position. but like you said if he check calls or even check raises a 9 high flop I could be looking at getting knocked out when there are so many better spots.

As for re-stealing it does happen at $20 from some of the better players but like u said - not this early...

I agree with the fold. Fish hooks are a mid-range pair and seem to often take a beating when played agressively.

you forgot to mention stack sizes which adds a whole new level to this hand.. if you have taken a few beatings early and have 10BB get it in and take the flip. if your stack is more healthy around starting size and so is the other two players it most certainly could be a good fold depending on the SB players RR range or if he is a lose player.. if he is also solid then the best you can hope for is a flip so then in that case its a good fold.

forgot to mention also if the SB has donked around and has like a shortish stack i would also get it in.. i wouldnt be too worried about the button raise.. from a reg this could be a fairly wide range of hands especially if your playing a tight early game as many will see this as a good blind stealing chance with a fair few cards...

Sorry it was like the 3rd hand! So pretty much every1 with 1500.

So a pretty easy fold. Don't want my whole stack in 3rd hand...
