I have recently started playing these in a fair bit of volume (50 a day) and find they are a bit different to 9 mans. What are people thoughts, would u play more loosely earlier on to build a stack or just stay tight like a normal SnG and wait for the blinds to increase. One big difference is the stack sizes on the bubble (normally 1 or 2 massive stacks and a few small stacks.) Is it best to just outlast 5th and get itm if you are a mid/shallow stack or should you go for the win. Payout is alot more shallow too 40/30/20/10 on stars so is it ok to just cruise into 3rd or 2nd with no realisitic chance of winning HU (there is always a chance but i have gotten to HU with 3k chips against someones 20k or so. I happened to win but obviously this isnt normal.) I know thats alot of questions for one topic but wanted to get some ideas going around to improve mine and hopefully your own games.
i never could figure out 18 persons. or 9persons for that matter. eighteens are odd in the fact that it goes from a 9man to a 6man back to a 9man to play down to a winner. i would say you should start out tighter and then become looser as people start dropping then do it all again when you are at ft.
ye i would say you are right. Interesting dynamic with two bubbles, people seem to tighten up when down to 10 and i think this is a good time to chip up for the the FT.
I think the reason for this is because most people especially at lower stakes are bad at adjusting their ranges.
ye so many uber bad players who are flatting at 100/200 with stacks of 2000-2500.

edit i know its not a STT but it plays alot like one and tbh i dont think it really belongs in an MTT thread so mods please dont move
