I like to play free rolls but is it bad for my general game? The reason I ask is that since it is for free I have no respect for the chips and will go all in with the likes of K8 suited when out of position. In the end am I doing damage to my overall game or is the prospect of 3 or 4 hours playing for £25 a good way of spending an afternoon?

My blog (this month)

depends if you have money in your account or not. personally unless i had no money i wouldn't play these, but if i didn't have money and didn't want to deposit i would definitely be playing these.

if you feel like playing them for fun tho and can play them stupidly or whatever without hurting your game then you should be fine. and i think you would be fine cuz i think most would know the difference between real money and a freeroll with nothing to risk at all.

I dont personally play free rolls because I start tending towards bad habits, plus I would have to be mega ultra bored. Even playing a low FTP points freeroll is painful for me because i still try to play correct for the most part in the face of fish/noob suckout city. Usually, I think its always good to mix up your game but if you're going to spend 3-4 hours to play worse than you normally would then I dont see much point. May as well shove on the first hand and get it over with. Plus, you'll see the same kind of fish at a low buy-in tourney anyway.

I only play one $3 a day (I have a real job) and if I go out early I might sighup for one (depends on my mode).

I don't play holdem's games though as they a bit boring. Normally NL 2-7, badugi or a 8 game or mixed games they a bit more fun, NOT omaha yuk.

Freerolls playout like normal games except early round where its a lottery. Once players get chips the settle down.

Its free, why not you not losing anything.

divide the prizepool by the number of runners. that gives you what it would cost to buyin if you had to pay. if its less than $3 don't bother in my opinion.

most freerolls aren't worth the time invested.

there are exceptions, but these normally have a steep requirement.

2k freeroll every month on IPN is nice, but you need to rake a lot for it.
