I am a keen poker player. Mostly I play online, and have been for 4-5 years. While I make a reasonable income from it, it varies from time to time. I'm looking to meet people who are in a similar position and are keen to meetup and discuss some sort of scheme where profits can be shared (Its perfectly legal to do so, and we would play so that we are not in violation of any of Terms and Conditions of poker sites). I have not been involved in anything like in the past, so the details would have to be worked out and discussed. And it goes without saying tat this will be a real community, where we would regularly meetup and discuss ideas, tips, strategies etc.

Who Should join this group?

- If you enjoy playing poker online
- If you like the idea of making regular income from poker
- If you believe you're a winning poker player and have a reasonably good track record so far (your stats can be checked on many different sites which have databases online)
- If you have a reasonable amount of time to devote to playing poker online ( at least 10 hours per week as a rough guideline)

This could be easily averted by tracking the players winnings and loses.
If they don't pay up the share that is tracked for what they agree to pay, they wouldn't be eliglble for the payout for that particular period.
Make the payout periods weekly, kind of like helping other players make tips.

If you contribute $10 to the pool and only get back .50c you know that something isn't right with the system. If you get enough people that agree to send just 5% of their winning to one account each time they get the win and agree to play only the previously decided levels of play. So if you're playing $3.00 sng's and bobo is playing $33 sng's, they won't be in the same pool, the pools would be of different levels. Like in your orbits on Stars.
Each player that completely sends his share each week would be divided by the amount of players that not only contributed, but stuck to the deal and this would be monitored by whomever is in charge of the payto account.

Sounds very sketchy. What exactly is the purpose of this scheme? If I am a decent winning poker player why would I want to share my winnings with some other guys? Just because sometimes I go on a downswing?

Yeah ok discussing strategies, hands and whatnot - like a mastermind group - but sharing the profits?

I really don't see how this can ever work out. There are just too many variables and too many things that can't be quantified.

And if it is one account, someone has to control it. What is to stop the controlling person from waiting until it gets a certain size and then just making off with the money?

A similar and, IMO, more reasonable approach to this is for you to find some like minded players and stake each other. You pay 10 or 20 percent of each others buy-ins and payout at the same percentage rate. This way if you are on a downswing and your buddy isn't, you still have some income and the hit your bankroll takes isn't as sharp since you aren't paying the entire buy-in. It would reduce your variance and in the long run, if you are evenly matched as far as skill and playing time, it should be a wash. If your pals aren't up to snuff, you just stop staking them. If you aren't up to snuff, but your buddies don't notice, then they can carry you.

Much better than throwing a bunch of money into a pot with strangers.

The details have to be figured out yet. And yeah, there is a big issue with trust. I just know that I used to do this with a friend and used to work out very well. It motivated us to play more. It helped us stay off tilt, cos you're always concerned about looking like an idiot if someone is watching you, or if you are responsible for other people's money too. It also makes the Bad Beats easier to handle if you can share the pain. In theory it should work out the same as Stocks, Diversification is good.

My ROI is around 15%, but the variance is just way too much. I just thought it was a neat idea, but yeah there's too many variables. Any ideas would be welcome

If anyone lives in London and is willing to meet up physically and discuss this, give me a shout.

Ok your first post said you have never done anything like this at all...Then your last post said you did it with your buddy....I dont think anyone should trust you at all.

something like this would be really hard to trust everybody. say you are all playing and winning a few hundred collectively a week and then on a sunday ....bink.... one of u wins the Mill.. you aren't going to want to split it.

I just think if your a solid player and you use good bankroll management than you will be just fine. No need for this kinda group.

Hello folks! I agree this can be hard to implement with a bunch of strangers....I believe it can be don between friends - following the example of the youngsters Doyle Brunson, Amarillo Slim and Peggy, who shared the ups and downs of their early grinding days, some beng friends until these days.

Well, just my 20cents, I don“t think I could share the pot with a bunch of strangers. Glasses
