Does anyone use poker software to help improve or make there game easier.
Just wondering if there are any good ones out there worth purchasing.

Poker Indicator is good, gives you your odds and the oppositions odds.
Just a indicator. I've had it say I'm 60% chance of winning the hand and I know I was behind by the betting pattern, me calling proved I was right.
Its gives you a good indication of a good starting hand as well plus pot odds.
You need to make your own mind up though on costly calls or allins, its only a indicator.

The software I currently use are Pokertracker 3, Holdem manager, pokerstove and a few different hand history replayers to review hand histories.
What is the difference between PT3 and Holdem manager?
I use a Mac, so I was never able to take advantage of poker software, like poker tracker or Holdem Manager. I recently had a chance to use a hud, and I could see how it would make a huge difference. I found myself being able to make much more precise decisions by knowing everyone's $vpip, preflop raise, and ROI.
Yeah I've been trying to install Holdem manager but it just won't work so might try poker tracker.
Is there much difference? Also do you automatically get peoples stats or does it start from when u start playing them / watching them?
Maybe i am very strange but i play better without software.Maybe is because i only play 3 tables together, sometimes 4.

I play better without software, too. It actually distracts me from watching the other players betting habits, which is what I use to help decide my actions.
SNG wizard is invaluable for evaluating push-folds situations. If you ever play MTTs or SNGs I would highly recommend it. Just remember that its not allowed on every site, like Pokerstars for instance.
Is SNG wizzard for evaluating your play after the hand is over, or does it make live recommendations during the hand?
FlyingSafe: SNG Wizard is only for evaluating your play after your session (not only your hand) is over. You actually cannot start the software if PS or FT client is running.
Alpine021: The tracking software don't come with any stats. It starts collecting when you start playing - from the tables you are playing at. There are various websites selling hand histories which you can load into your tracker and have a headstart (that's only for cash games though)
iamatuna: both trackers do everything you need. I personally believe HM is a bit better than PT as in it has less bugs and if there are bugs they are fixed A LOT faster. HM also tends to be less of a memory hog on the computer when you multitable. But that's just my opinion after trying them both. They do have trials and I suggest you download and try them out before buying.
For the guys saying they play better without the HUD - that's just silly. The HUD is just extra information - you DON'T have to use it if you don't want to. You have your reads and your HUD. What's the big deal? If the HUD really distracts you - just turn it off - still the after session statistics, hands review etc. are invaluable - even if you don't want to use the HUD.
PS. Before buying various funky software (besides a tracker and SNG Wizard if you play SNGs) make sure you check the allowed software list for your poker site. Some sites (like PS or FT) don't allow certain software to be run while you are playing.

I am new to shark scope and poker stars. If you were going to spend money to improve your game, would you buy software or watch commentary on hands? What is the best bangfor the buck? I play $16 sit n gos.
I definitely think that game software can help you for when you play for money. As they say, practice makes perfect!

New to sharkscope and would like advice on something that i could install that would just give me odds and outs as I play, so that by repetition it makes it easier to calculate when I play live.
Hey man, yeah new to the software thing myself. Started playing 6-max sit'ngos regularly now (& hu shortly) & was thinking of getting 'holdem-manager', 'sit'ngo wizard', 'wizHUD', & 'calculatem pro'. If anyone has any opinions on this I'd really appreciate it.
