I was wondering how many people use HUD calculators (Sharkscope or otherwise)?
I've found they actually hurt my game. I've tried a couple but they don't tell me much I don't already know (I'm pretty good at figuring pot odds), and they distract the crap out of me to the detriment of getting reads on other people.
I use Sharkscope stats mainly to track my own abilities (I take them with a grain of salt, frankly as some of my ROI stats are a bit misleading) and as a record of what I've been doing lately.
And putting too much faith into the HUDs can be misleading. I watched a $100 buyin SNG once on FTP. There were several sharks in the pool and one really big whale. The whale had a -73% ROI and had lost 18k over the time SS was tracking him. He crushed the table. I wonder if the others at the table were underestimating him because of his stats.
Do you use HUDs? Do they help you?
Well I use Sharkscope HUD and I love it. I relly found it very usefull to estimate how good a player is, IE what range heÂŽs on in a given situation.
and about the crushing vale, are you sure he wasnÂŽt just on a little rush in that one game? I mean, ONE game says nothing about how good ofa player you are in the long run. And maybe he is capable of advanced plays and calls or whatever, but he is usually monkeytilting for houers as soon as things doesnt go his way? With those stas of his probability says he wonÂŽt make the best decision very often...
PT3 HUD is good to see how he plays(loose/tight and agressive/passive)

I use Poker Indicator just in case I miss a the straight draws especially when multitabling.
Also shows the pot odds.
But if you good with doing it in your head why bother.
You said it hurts your game, then maybe you taking its figures incorrectly.
Also I play in position 70% of the time. I'm folding alot without looking at the HUD.
