At times when I look up a player, an "error" shows giving me the message: "access to statistics on this username has been disabled".
Why?
is there actually a way how to unblock after a player was blocking it? of course on his wish.
Yes, once you have blocked your statistics, you can unblock them again by using the "Unblock Username" item in the Options menu.
Didn't blocked usernames use to show the winning or losing percentage? I think I remember a very small amount of usernames having the "access denied" message who I assumed had some sort of "special" arrangement with scope, but the vast majority of blocked usernames at least showed you whether they were winning or losing players.
Hi Leprechaun,
please see our FAQ:
Can I be removed from the database?
As of the 8th April 2009 we have a new data removal policy. You may click here and fill out the form and your data will be made inaccessible to all users - including yourself. Prior to the new policy date paying subscribers were able to see the number of games played along with the average ROI %. Therefore subscribers who purchased before the new policy came into effect will have the old data access rules until their current subscription purchase expires.
Ah, that explains it, I renewed my membership a few days ago.
I assume this was in response to Pokerstars' pressure. It's a shame, because it reduces the functionality of the database simply because of a perceived privacy invasion. I never understood that, especially when the ROI % is associated with your anonymous poker username.
Oh well, I guess it's better than having to go to war with Pstars when they try to ban your site through more technical means.
Yeah but think about those who wanted to not show their stats, the others could easily notice that they are winning players by reading the number of games and roi...i noticed that the majority are BIG winning players or BIG loosing players...medium players won/t reset their stats
Please bring it back ... i liked just the number of games and the roi better. Keep the new option to "lock" all as well.

It means that player has chosen to block their statistics. You can block your statistics by going to the "Block Username" item in the options menu on SharkScope.com.
