I am looking into setting up a competition/leaderboard for sngs for January of 2010. i know that i am starting this early but i want to get a good idea of what people want and see who is interested early enough.

1. is anybody interested in having a competition?

2. what exactly should it be. total profit for any sng? single table? most games/total profit 50% prize pool for both?

open to suggestions to get this started way ahead of time

probably best to do some roi over a set number of games kind of thing because people play such different stakes etc. or have categories for each level i spose. be good to see how people are doing so its a good idea.

roi would be fine also but we would have to play the same game aka DON's, 9mans, 45 mans.....

i wouldn't have a problem with that but we would have to decide on a game and since i'll only be playing DON's i would want that. thats why i think we could maybe do something like bet $50 or whatever people want the bet to be and then have it so whoever plays the most sngs gets 50% of prizepool and whoever has most profit gets the other 50%........once again we would maybe have to set limits on the type of game or buy in.

i'm open for any suggestions though.

how long of a comp were u thinking of? would you be interested in a month to month thing? anything longer kind of becomes a drag i feel. if you're still interested let me know i have some ideas on how we could get people of various buyins/ games to compete.

The downside of a total profit/most games competition is that it will always favour those without other commitments. Those of us with jobs, kids etc who can only play an hour or two a day can't compete.

How about an average profit or ROI competition but over a minimum number of games e.g. 100. Or 50% total profit/50% average profit over 100 games.

well, heres the thing for me, i'm going to only be playing double or nothings in january, so if anybody wants some type of DON competition let me know otherwise you are free to set up any other type of competition in this thread and run it.

just let me know

i might be down for it but do you think a competition where it was based on buyins won might work? for example if i chose a $10 stt as my game of choice and won $100 at that level i would be up 10 buyins. i still wouldnt rule out a DoN comp. but it depends on what site i plan on playing on. please remember though what time you lack to play can be made up by how many DoNs you can play at one time due to how easy they are to multitable. look forward to hearing from you!
