I wish my rl life hadn't been so brutal on me.. I just cannot get enough time for poker!
Doing much better at the SNG tables though.. I've been consistently finishing in 1st when it comes to final tables. Using the SNG Wiz to practice late stage push/shove game appears to be showing early positive results. And of course it helps that low stakes SNG fish are simply terrible at HU play. That means more 1st prize moneys for me.. and that's easily bread & butter of the game.
Tried to play a few MTTs today.. but I am continually getting butchered in those. I feel my play is really strong at all blind levels but the luck isn't just there. Was deep in both $18K and $23K tourneys tonight to only busto from both when the first coin flip of the tourney simply wouldn't go my way. The first one was when I reshoved loose/aggro EP raiser with my AQ from SB and ~23bb (I simply didn't have the desire to play the hand post flop or face a definite checkraise to my cbet). The second turney I opened up with QQ from EP and called a moster 30bb+ shove from a somewhat solid player. I obviously put him on AQs+/AK type of hand. Rarely he would be doing that with AA/KK, in which case he'd rather reraise me to seek to create a larger pot and draw in hands he'd be dominating. So the K had to arrive there to kill my tourney.
With MTTs I'm mostly playing careful small ball strategy.. avoiding early flips where I'm not a significant favourite and opting to see more flops and stack people who are far behind. But it's been my MTT story of late to bust on the very first flip of a tourney. Really fucking sick.
I'm just gonna keep off MTTs and continue my SNG grind. Can't be throwing my BR at donk lotteries.
