April 5CD Playing

Week 1:
After taking a few days break at the end of March, I came back to the tables in April, and despite the break, I didn't feel fully recharged. Perhaps the big win at the end of March and the days off had made me less enthusiastic about getting back to it. Either way, in week one, it showed. Financially I ended the week -$28 which is my first week in defecit since August. I felt from the start that i wasn't running very well and wasn't 100% focussed and slid into a downturn over the first few days. I tried valiantly to turn this around with more special performances in the $500 guaranteed, but could only manage a hard fought 11th and 10th place. These were the two big chances that I could manufacture from my week, and I didnt take either of them. The draining effect of these two near misses after hours of concentration was evident in my half hearted attempts at a few sit n gos towards the end of the week.

Despite a couple of big wins in March, the month had generally been a difficult one, with my profits not coming close to matching those of January and February. The first week of April bringing its difficulties along only added to my concerns. The last thing I wanted was a bad week 2 of April now, especially when I had damaged my bankroll by living off it for the previous 2 weeks or so.

Week 2: A combination sit n gos and intermittent MTTs saw me put together a reasonable week, and although there were no final tables to speak of I feel like I dug in and played pretty well. +$127 for the week is ok, and it helps to turn the tide a little from last week which is as important for morale and confidence as it is to my bankroll.

Week 3: This week saw me again taking on my favoured MTT, the $500 guaranteed on each day of the week, but as with the difficulties of March, April hadn't seemed to have brought any better running with it. I struggled to make any meaningful headway with these tournaments, with no final tables, and only a few small cashes. With the addition of a few sit n gos I thought perhaps it would prove to be another week in defecit. After some calculations at the end of the week, it turned out I was +$1 for the week. Not the sort of score that i'll be wanting to make a habit of repeating.
Next week I need something reliable in terms of income, which leaves me with one real option. I have to do the weekly sit n go leaderbard and grind out 100 games, without multi tabling, in order to optimise my points score at the end of the week and get a sizeable boost of bonus cash.

Week 4: A long and tiring week at the $2 tables completed, and all in all I feel satisfied with my efforts. The aim in these leaderboard weeks is always to win of course, but top 10 places are generally acceptable. I managed 6th on the mercury high orbit leaderboard, and a score worthy of an extra $5 on the low orbit too. With my weekly winnings and all prize money I totalled +171.60 for this week, which isnt spectacular by any means, but its solid profit and it helps keep the bankroll moving in the right direction.
Even though this week has been tiring, I've decided I can't afford to sit back, I'm going straight into another week of 100 games and a second shot at the weekly leaderboard.
