why i will never play a DON again in my life

Been grindin alot lately playin $10 9 man sit n goes with 6 at a time.. Doin real well with an ROI of 40% and made 1100 this month so far... For some odd reason after i had a bad session consisting of about 5 suck outs i decided to play some DON's ( being that they are so popular).. I realized I will never play one of these again..
The play is terrible.. Everybody plays with scared money and then when it is down to the last guy everyone gangs up to get him out.. I asked myself is this really poker? Am i learning anything about the game except push with AK?
I believe you learn nothing from playing these tournaments and if you ever want to start making some real money at poker you must learn how to play it.. these tourneys do nothing to your skill level.. you never get below 6 players and all you are doing is doubling your money..
So i am asking anyone who will listen, do yourself a favor and if you are playing these you must stop NOW!!! Read a book and start playing some real poker.. There is money to be made at this game but i can promise you its not in these DON tourneys..
I would appreciate anyones input on my thoughts here... GL all and keep grinding away...

The problem is the same on high (not highest) stakes sngs. Your opponents are mostly regulars who play robotic poker:

  1. raising preflop with good hands
  2. folding if they miss the flop
  3. pushing allin preflop if they are under 10BB

There is really no room for creativeness, for fantasy, for technical skills.
They just do what sng-winzard tells them to do.
They have a ROI ranging from -3% to +3% and most of them just play for rakeback/vip points.
You can find more exciting poker in mid/low stakes sngs or in high stakes MTT and cash games.

There are regulars in the dons that have roi's of 2-7%. So people do make money at them but they require a different strategy. They play more like a satelite at the end. But if you want to get better at short handed play or heads up play stick to your normal games.
