Vegas trip report

Hi guys!

I am back home after 9 days in Vegas, where I played A LOT of poker Smile

I got to Vegas on Saturday the 31st of May after a 24-hours trip from Dublin via New York (where my flight got delayed), I was wrecked when I got to the airport in Vegas and my plan was to go to bed immediately and get a good night of rest and start playing intensively from the following day....obviously that didn't happen as as soon as the taxi reached the strip I was way too excited by the casinos but mainly by the ladies LOL!!! So I decided to go for a walk and check the inside of a few casinos, but after a couple of hours I was really too tired and just went back to the hotel.

The jetlag totally screwed me and it took me a few days to go back on track, not a huge poblem though as in Vegas you can find things to do 24/7....it was just a bit odd to wake up almost every morning at 7am! Crying

On Sunday I played a low buy in tourney at the Caesar where I got knocked out for a huge pot with KK vs QQ all in preflop (Q on the flop obv) - this is a bit of a nightmare because the same happened to me in a recent torney in Dublin (see previous blog entry).

On Monday I went to play the 1.5k WSOP event at the Rio...with only 4.5k starting chips the structure was really lol....we were just over 2k players and I got knocked out in around 600 place when I tried an 18bb resteal with KTo against a serial LP raised - he snapped with 99 and the board bricked. A couple of hours prior to that I got AA cracked by 33 on a huge pot.

On Tuesday I played the 1k deep stack extravaganza at the Venetian - we were close to 600 players and the structure was amazing. 20k starting stack with 60 minutes blinds, all levels included. I busted out just before the money and was quite pissed off as I think I played really good poker in this tourney. I especially remember a hand where I 4-bet steal with 48o from the BB after a raise and 3-bet from CO and Button, I loved that. Apart from that I didn't play spewy at all, I think I just got card dead for long time in the critical moments of the tournament.

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I played mainly a the Caesar's Palace - the level of play is terrible there, but I was really running bad and didn't get any good result....I bubbled the final table of the 500$ deepstack and was really disappointed about that as I was running over the table for a long lenght of time until I lost 3 flips in a row against the shorties and found myself short stack and soon out of the tournament.

On Saturday I didn't play poker, just went to a pool party at the MGM.

On Sunday I shipped a tourney for 3.3k at the Caesar Palace (finally a joy). This was a small 235$ buy in with 59 players. When we got to the final table I got offered a deal about 5 times and refused all the times. I guess the table was quite pissed off with me but I have no interested in making deals for such a small prize, especially when I think I have a big edge on other players...so we played all the way until the end and I shipped! Smile I also got lucky on a couple of hands towars the end, so hopefully a new good run is about to start....it would be time!

Now I am back home and my plans for the next few weeks are pretty clear: play less tournaments, study a lot of 6-max cash on deucescracked, play HU cash, watch a lot of soccer (world cup about to start) and take it easy in general for a month or two. Then when I am fresh again I can start grinding MTT again!

Good luck all!

Nice report, and congrats on the win! MTTs are swingy online, but playing live which is like 5 times slower, are worse coz they're swingier... slower!

Anyways I'm really envious and hope to check out Vegas soon. Good stuff!
