Irish Winter Festival Final Table - end of a great month!
October is now over and what a great month it was! After a long holiday travelling around the Western side of the USA a played poker only for about 10 days this month. I started with a couple of good results online where I got a 3rd place in the High Roller of GDPoker for 2.7k € and a second place in a 100$ rebuy for 5.4k $ on the ipoker platform - a few days later I played the Irish Winter Festival in Dublin, a great tourney with a 1,650€ buy in with 347 players playing, among which tons of top pro.
I run pretty good for the first couple of days and had 3 or 4 times the average stack for most of the tourney, this was really good because playing deep stacks is where I can give my best and I was really accumulating chips playing small pots and winning a couple of coin flips also. I then lost a huge coin flip (99 vs AQ all in preflop) towards the end of Day 2 but despite of that I managed to close the day above average stack (7/18).
Day 3 was really hard as the structure of the tournament collapsed and the average stack was always around 20bb for most of the day. I managed to finish 6th when I repushed with 22 and got called by A3 and an A hit the flop
. I guess I can't complain as the pay day was a pretty sweet 23.5k €, however I wish I could run better on the last day as I was card dead from beginning to the end....top prize was 125k € and would have been a dream come true to hit that!
I also did my first coaching session for PokerStrategy and I really enjoyed it! At one moment we had 22 students on the training and I was really delighted about it being this my first session with them! More to come in November!!!
Looking forward to November now, my goals are to make 10k € profit from online MTTs and to also play at least 1 live MTT
Good luck at the table, will update in a couple of weeks time as usual
Ciao,
Ivan aka TripleAceIRL
