Hello!!!

I haven't posted on my blog for a while, let's say December has not been a great month for me, actually it has been the worst month of the year! The funny thing is that potentially this could have been my best month ever, I had very deep runs like two "top 20" finish in the Sunday Master of GDPoker, a 36th place in the Sunday Brawl on FTP, a couple of deep runs in the 100$ rebuy on FTP, final tabled the 30$ rebuy on FTP, final tables 100$ rebuy on ipoker.com, etc etc.....and despite of this due to not being able to maximise in the latest stages of the tournaments (in other words losing coin flips when it counted the most) I ended up with a -3.5k € on my balance for the month Crying

But let's leave the whining behind and look at the year overall. My initial goal for 2010 for to make a 50k € profit, mainly playing MTT....due to a couple of good scores in March/April, I decided to push myself further and go for a six-figure year, setting the new target at 100k € (approx 135k $), after reaching a top of +109k € in October I ended 2010 with a healthy +102k € (bad run in December Sad ), which I am really proud of! I am delighted with my results overall and also really happy to join the PokerStrategy Team as Coach a couple of months ago...so from 0 to 10 I would give a 9to 2010!
My biggest regret is not being able to find a sponsorship to justify me playing more live MTT, I receive a couple of offers, but nothing really appealing! Obviously on one side I enjoy playing live for the social aspect and also due to the fact that most live players are really bad, comparing to the average online player, making live MTT +EV for the dead money. The problem is that the buy in is often high, and the variace is huge as it is impossible to mass-grind them, so I guess in 2011 I will play a few more live MTT mainly to get some exposure (and hopefully a sponsorship), however I will pick them carefully. For sure I want to play the Irish Open, the WSOP and hopefully an EPT. I will also play a few tournaments with buy in between 500€ and 1.5k € starting with the PGP in Saint Vincent (only my second time playing poker in Italy lol) towards the end of January. I will make a separate blog entry though with my 2011 goal...this one is for 2010!!! Wink

So let's look at my top 10 results for the year 2010:

1. 6th place at the Irish Winter Festival for 23.5k € (live event).
2. 1st place at the "Gran Domenica" MTT on Sisal Poker for 20.2k €
3. 3rd place at the 250k GTD on ipoker.com for 20k $
4. 2nd place at the Sunday Master on GDPoker for 16.6k €
5. 1st place at the "Monday High Roller" on ipoker.com for 11.2k $
6. 1st place at the "Ultima Chance" on GDPoker for 7k €
7. 2nd place at 100$ rebuy on ipoker.com for 5.5k $
8. 8th place at FTOPS Event# 3 on FTP for 5.2k $
9. 3rd place at the "Monday High Roller" on ipoker.com for 5.1k $
10. 3rd place at the "Monday High Roller" on ipoker.com for 5k $

If I have to pick my favourite scores for 2010, money aside, I would pick #2 and #5 above....'cause I shipped them and had no regrets, only joy! Smile
