TripleAceIRL's blog

back with some good news! :)

Hello!!!
Again long time without writing a post, I am getting really lazy keeping this blog going! For the past month I barely played any poker at all, I actually haven’t played online for four weeks, which is the longest break from poker for me for the past 3 years I believe. The main reason for this is that I have been on holidays for over two weeks (nice trip in Central America Smile ) and have been really busy with other stuff. I actually don’t think I will be able to play more than 2-3 times a week this year, but for a GOOD reason, and this is great news for me!

Long time no post....

Well I haven't posted in 2011 yet, so I think is time for a general update....poker wise I am basically break-even 40 days into the new year which is really bad (just about 1k up as of today), but I assure you, it has been a rollercoast! In other words, I have been doing ok in MTT, but nothing special....I haven't played that much either due to personal commitments, just about 15 night I guess.

Goodbye 2010!!! Six figures inside!!! :)

Hello!!!

FTOPS Event #3...so close!!! Finished 8th / 1158, lost "another" coin flip of a life time!!!

I usually don't play much on FTP but I decided to play a few FTOPS Events this month, starting with the $300 + $22 NL Hold'em 4xShootout 6-Max Turbo , I always do very well in 6-max events, so I thought I could make a good result.

Irish Winter Festival Final Table - end of a great month!

October is now over and what a great month it was! After a long holiday travelling around the Western side of the USA a played poker only for about 10 days this month. I started with a couple of good results online where I got a 3rd place in the High Roller of GDPoker for 2.7k € and a second place in a 100$ rebuy for 5.4k $ on the ipoker platform - a few days later I played the Irish Winter Festival in Dublin, a great tourney with a 1,650€ buy in with 347 players playing, among which tons of top pro.

Starting a new adventure as PokerStrategy coach :)

I am very excited to announce that starting from yesterday I have officially become part of Team Pokerstrategy where I will be coaching, focusing on the Italian Market.

This will take some time away from the poker table but I am sure the overall experience will be well worth and will help me grow as a player also. Link to the introduction interview (in Italian) is here: http://it.pokerstrategy.com/news/content/Nuovo-coach-e-autore-MTT:-Tripl...

Back from holidays, back on the grind!

I just returned from 2 wonderful weeks in the USA. I traveled a lot from San Francisco down the coast to LA, on Route 66 to the Gran Canyon and finished up in Las Vegas where I didn't even have time to play (just a couple of hours cash games) as I was kept busy entertaining the lady :P . I really love driving in the USA, just wonderful! Will be back next year for sure!!! Wink

Winamax Dublin 6-Max Event deep run + AssoPoker interview link

The weekend just gone I played the 6-Max Winamax European Championship in Dublin. 313 players played this 550€ event and it was a great success. I don't think I ever enjoyed a live tournament so much, this was my first 6-max live event and boys, this is soooo much better than playing live boring full-ring events! Playing 6-max MTT is really playing poker, and knowing stack sizes and position is really fundamental in order to go deep (obv you go deep by luckboxing your way through also, like in every MTT Smile Big )

UKIPT disappointment and big Sunday hit!

Hello,
the last couple of weeks have been pretty intense poker wise! I played a lot of MTTs online and in the first 10 days of the month I shipped 3 of them, all very small though (around 90-100 players) but they are still good bankroll builders and cover my buy-ins for other MTTs. I won the 40€ "Giornaliero Tecnico" on GDPoker twice last week and the 55€ Double Stack in the afternoon once....all for around 1k-1.2k wins each. Overall I made no profit though!

On a 10k downswing - time to re-organize!

Since my last blog entry I took a little break and went for a long weekend to Portugal to enjoy the sun, when I came back things didn't change and everything has been going downhill. This is by a long shot the biggest downswing of my life....-10k € . Obviously I feel pretty sick about it, but I actually look at the future with optimism.
This happens to everyone, sometimes you run above EV (see March/April), sometimes on EV (January & July for example) and sometimes way under EV (May and August).
