My first blog!

I have been playing for over a year now on full tilt. I'm making some progress, but I still don;t have the balls to go up one stake to the 22's and 26's. I play during the week, not in weekends.
I play 11 dollar sng's and 45 players 11 dollars, all non turbo ofcourse. Sometimes a tourney on the side. I make good profit. But Lately is has been pretty bad at FT, i have been watching and used an excell sheet to see if i get many bad beats and it has been terrible. I get at least 50% more bad beats then I get suck outs, what about that.. People always say you remind the bad beats more and you forget your suck outs, it is almost even always.. NOT in my case at the moment. Very frustrating, but i'm not tilting and that is a good thing!

Below my graph for my last 30 days.. 4 feb-4 march 2010

Getting more bad beats done to you than you deal out is common and actually is what you should be AIMING for as a good player. You shouldn't find it surprising that you get 50% more bad beats on you than you deal out. If you're a good player it will mean you'll get the money in good more often, leaving an increased number of opportunities for people to suck out on you, and less for you to suck out on them (since you're getting it in bad less often than a bad player would).

When people say suckouts happen evenly they mean that if you got yourself into the same spots as those bad players then you would suck out an equal amount (on average, of course. The reliability of this increases with the sample size). But if someone gets it in with 72o against your AA and cracks you, you're never going to "balance" that one as a good player because you'll never be on the other side of it.

Good graph, though 500 games is a very small sample size to blame the badbeats Smile Ur playing a lot 45mans MTTs so u need sometin like 5K games to clean out the variance.

Anyway nice graph, keep up the good work Smile

Thanks Alex, you make a good point there about good/bad players.. Never thought about it like that, pretty stupid.. Thanks for your reaction Smile

Doomdy: 500 is very small but that is just last month, i played before but i just started the blog, so I just only posted last month Smile And TY
