Mid July

A little more than halfway thru July, I'm still continuing with the turbos as I get adjusted to my new job and the new/lighter playing schedule.

So far, I am quite happy with the way it has gone this month. I'm playing with a much better mindset and really enjoying the time I put in at the tables. The grind has ceased. Away we go...

Turbos so far

I am continuing my experiment into the turbos this month, and so far I have kept an roi similar to my roi in the non-turbos. Only been about 200 games so far, but I'll keep going with these for about 500 more and see where I am at.

borgata game

played a $100+20 sng at borgata in Atlantic city thursday evening, which was my first live casino tourney. i had previously only played cash games down there .

here's how it went down: The game played like a turbo and the blinds started at 25/50 and doubled with each round. 50/100, 100/200, 200/400 etc..even faster than a turbo online. slight adjustment so had to get aggro sooner than I'm used to. Rounds were 10 minutes to start but then went to 15 minutes around the 6th level. 3000 starting stacks. 60 bbs - 10 handed

here we gooo

With June now over, I am very much looking forward to July, and this is not just bc of the obvious reason that I ran well in June.

I have been offered and accepted a full-time job in NY, which I start on the 12th. This will be the first time in four years that I have had a 'real' job to go along with poker income. I will certainly be playing less poker, but I think that will be a good thing. Cashing out has always been a problem for me, as I have never been able to keep my br intact, and when the inevitable downswing hits, I have on numerous occasions been forced to drop down levels.

closing out the month

Going to put in a few sessions today and tomorrow, before heading to DC for the weekend. Planning a stop in AC thursday on the way to play probably a $100 sng at Borgata. This will only be my fourth or fifth time playing live poker in a casino. I played cash games last time but I'm looking forward to playing a tourney.

Anyone know what the competition is like weekday afternoons there?

Been getting in some games this week, trying to finish the month strong. metsies <>

lets go !!

I played alot of poker in June, more so than in the previous few months, and it was good to have a strong showing. Still have a few days left, but I may be able to mix in a few $20s if I can run halfway decent for the next week.

Going to DC next weekend for Mets-Nats, so I'll try to get in another 100 games by then, but we'll see. I enjoy the slower pace and not feeling like I have to play for hours on end. It has been showing in my results recently.

good week

Ive had a good start to the week, which is encouraging. I've been able to mix in some tens and had some success thus far, just have to keep hammering away as I continue to climb.

I've been getting in some early starts as well, keeping to a decent schedule.

Have a second interview for the job I am interested in in manhattan on thursday. fingers crossed...

lets go!!

I have not blogged here for a few months, as I have been busy looking for a job and just taking some time off from poker in general.

Needless to say, the job has not happened yet, although I had an interview this past week for a nice job in nyc, so I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one.

I have had the pleasure of having to build my roll from 50$, and I started in the 2.50$ games about three weeks ago and am now grinding the 5s and am on my way back to my bread and butter game, the tens and twenties.

mixing it uuuup

so after about 500 dons, these games are tougher than I realized, what a surprise..seems like an roi in the 3-5 range is standard for the mass tablers. its definitely a good game to mass table with a small roi and get all the rewards that stars offers.

playing these has actually helped my end game in normal sngs. I'm able to be more patient when I can afford to be, and those dons are all about patience.

stars bonus question..

Can anyone tell me where to find the following promotion:
