4 Tabling - take 2 - Painful!
Just finished the 4 90 mans for this evening and it was extremely painful, but much improved and raises some questions.
I shall start with the postives. I was much more comfortable with the four tables tonight utilising all of the time available to me to make the right decisions. I picked my spots alot better and was able to accumulate alot of chips in 3 out the 4.
The pain though is pretty apparent in the results
54/90
12/90
10/90
10/90
To top it off, the 3 NTM/bubble bust outs both occured whilst I was in the top 5 in chips and had been chip leader fairly recently, running into the new chip leader each time. I was pretty pissed (at myself) with all three tbh and the first two probably affected how I played the last one.
I feel that they were all poorly played and welcome some constructive criticism.

He called with AQ and that was that. Felt extremely poor after that, I had re-raised the same player the hand before with QQ and he laid it down, so I should have known he would look me up this time.

Button had raised with A7os and big blind had KK. Was dissapointed obviously, but I think I made the right move here.
and finally (probably the worst one of all)

villain has pocket deuces and I'm screwed
After being burned by two shoves, I played this like a real idiot. If I was gonna play, which is debatable seing as there was a guy pretty much in the dead zone, then maybe shoving was the only option.
It is interesting though how maybe the first two influenced the last one. In the 2nd one (in the order shown above and also chronologically), one of the players had been down to 720 chips and the final table seemed imminent, he caught 4 hands on the bounce and got back in it, meanwhile my stack was dwindling. Maybe another reason for my impatience and caution with the A10.
Tonights session really brings up the age old question about bubble and NTM play. Do you ignore the payouts (in this case) of 9-6 or even 9-3 and really keep pushing hard to give yourself a good crack at winning or do you keep folding and leaking chips until someone cracks and take you 2/3x buy in but have not much to work with at the final table.
By writing this now (straight after the games have finished) I do feel a little better about how I have played tonight and to put myself in a position to cash/win 3/4 90 man tournaments, to me suggests I'm doing something right. I'm still not too pleased with how I went out, especially th A10, but I think that playing to win the tournament is the way forward IF and its a big IF,
If you can deal with the emotional trauma that comes with finishing on the bubble or veryNTM and the perils of variance
I feel like I have come a long way tonight. Beleive me tonight hurt alot and previously I would probably have spewed a chunk of BR on a larger buy-in after the first bust out and gone on tilt, but I kept it together enough to play the other games to the bubble and then walk away after another two kicks in the nuts.
Just writing this has made me feel alot better and more advice can help me turn this into 3/4 cashes next time (hopefully) lol.

Really doubt I play AT like you did at all tbf, i may even just fold it once the button gets involved; I really really dislike your mini-raise because the BB gets a great price to continue and your raise is literally never shifting the button player; so at best youre seeing a flop out of position vs one opponent (BTN) but potentially vs two, both of whom have you covered.
Shoving it in pre is another option as you obv have a ton of fold equity, but it'd be helpful to have a read on the BTN before doing this. He's obviously retarded open-limping the button but if he's not limped in a lot before its closer to a fold than a shove i think. At this level especially I think you just get snapped off by all of AJ+ as well as a load of pairs, and you can easily wait for a better spot.
As played I still don't really see why you "can't get away" on the flop; I'dve probably bet/called him and evaluated the turn. ROTwise the Q is a terrible card for us and I'd c/f that (though I wouldn't be thrilled ofc), and I'd stack off on obvious nut cards for us (aces/tens) as well as some other stuff. If you want feedback though its best not to post the outcomes of the hands because that obviously leads to a lot of ROT in the responses that you get >_>
I dont know Alex if we get to the Q even fairly cheaply i think that we would be pot committed. After the 3 BB raise PF and check calling (which if the villain knows anything about bet sizing would be at least 6 BB we would have committed 9BB and the pot would be at 19 or so. Because of this it would be hard for us to fold although it is possible.
Oh also its worth pointing out that TT and JJ are totally standard.
If you took a pot from him with QQ before and "know" he's going to look you up thsi time then fwiw that makes it more of a shove because it means he'll call you down with a bunch of worse shit like TT downards, AJ etc.

1. can't hate getting it in with the best hand. i'm fine with the play
2. Get it in all day everyday. just unlucky.
3. a lot of people would probably just shove this, i'm also ok with raising and playing, with this flop you can't get away from it at these stakes, although that min raise by him is rough. still have to get it in.
