New month, new challenges

May has finished and I have completed my first month of playing with discipline. I'm happy with my progress and the last two days were particulaly challenging, I ran horrible and suffered bad beat after bad beat, but I was getting it in ahead and I was able to take the set-backs.

According to poker tracker, during May I played 135 tournaments for a profit of $192.99 with an ROI of 24%. If I had soley played the $6.50 90 mans the stats would have been better, but I played some mtts to break it up a little and have the chance of a bigger pay-off.

So what now?

Day 3 4-tabling

Continued last night with 6 tournaments, 3 90man kos, a $3mtt ko and the two early doubles.

Finished with a 3rd place in one of the 90s and not much else. Puts me up about $250 from my initial $75 at the start of May. I'm very happy with how it is going, I know its early days and I haven't played nearly enough but I think I do have some edge in the 90 mans where generally players seem to hand me their chips (and their bounty) early doors.

4 Tabling - take 2 - Painful!

Just finished the 4 90 mans for this evening and it was extremely painful, but much improved and raises some questions.

I shall start with the postives. I was much more comfortable with the four tables tonight utilising all of the time available to me to make the right decisions. I picked my spots alot better and was able to accumulate alot of chips in 3 out the 4.

The pain though is pretty apparent in the results

First time 4-tabling 90 man SNGs

Last night I 4 tabled the $6 90 man KO SNGs on FTP for the first time.

The session didn't quite go how I had hoped, I played horribly. I don't think it was the 4 tabling that was the problem, maybe I was too tired or just had an off day. I did accumulate some chips in 3 of the 6 games I played but I made some stupid plays and also met with stiff resistance to most of my moves in the later levels and the blinds got to me in the end.

Discipline, Discipline, Discipline

Like 99% of recreational online poker players (and probably some pro's), poor discipline, both in bankroll management and in "brain fart" moments at the table, made me a losing player. Now I'm trying to turn this around. Hopefully by posting here I can help to achieve this both by shaming myself if I slip up and also posting about positive results to re-enforce the benefits of keeping ones head and being super disciplined.
