The rebuild of my bankroll

Hey guys,

this is RYHUNDO, I play on fulltiltpoker.com I have been playing poker for 2years now but only took it serious since November last year. I built up a 4k bankroll playin slow blind sngs at the $10-30 levels, including 45 man sngs. I then stepped to HU sngs, I crushed the 20s and 33s on my first day so hit the 110s soon after, within 3weeks of playing only around 3-5 a day I had made 2k and a 10%roi, I was killing them so I gave up sngs n cashed out some money leaving 2k online, I then lost this 2k in one night over tilting n playin 220 hu and 1 550hu, I just couldnt hack the swings of the higher stakes HU as I am 20 and this kind of money is serious to a student like me, so i quit the HU n went back to the buttom $10-$20sngs, as you can imagin, the tilt was too much after loosing so much and I no longer played my A game and I had become looser due to the HU so lost around another $500, so i quit poker all together and didnt play (apart from an odd sng n a freeroll here and there) for almost 2months always intending to come back to it.

TODAY IS A NEW START.

I am feeling great, working out, studying poker articles watching all the videos, taking notes, playin around with ICM calculators, am as pimpindonks says 'winning the battle before entering the war' or something along those lines.
I was advised to start with a 50buy in bankroll, this was inpracticle to me as I didnt have the money so I stuck on $130 to play $5 sngs and an odd $10 sng, in my first session I WON a 45 man $10 and am up 120 for the entire session, this brings my bankroll to $250. I now can play the $5 n $10s together but will not move up to the 20s until i have 1.1k in my account. I will keep you up to date on the progress of my re build. I am strictly only allowed to play sngs but can play stts or 45 man sngs.
wish me luck.

Peace.

Good luck with the rebuilding of your poker bankroll. I'll be following your blog. I was kind of in a similar situation where I worked my way up through the HU SNG limits, built a nice bankroll for the higher stakes games, and then got burnt out when the positive results stopped coming. Just recently I concluded that I was simply out of my league at the high stakes games.

So my advice is that just because you earned the bankroll to play a certain limit, doesn't mean you should. There are a lot amazing players who average $20-$50 buy-ins that earn way more then the guys playing $200+ games.

Thank you for your reply, yeah I totally agree with you, its all part of the learning curve from a young player, to be honest in a wierd f*%ked up way I am kind of glad I lost that money because imagin i won the 220's and the 550, I would be at risk to loose a whole lot more in the future if I carried on playing out of my limits and bankroll, this was a massive wake up call and I truely believe I learnt from it and I just think its part of every poker players life to have these moments where they blow up and do their bankroll so they can learn from because everyone knows it can happen but unless it happens you wount learn you will think your the lucky one who can get through the net.
And also yeah as I move up the spectrum on the sngs I will tighten up my bankroll requirements to step up each level so to step up to $20 I will want 50 buy ins and probably the same for $30 as there pretty simular play but when I hit the $50 I will want atleast 70buy ins and for the $100 I will want 100 etc, I have made a bankroll plan on a spreadsheet so will try and stick to it.

Good luck at the tables.
