Improving My Skills...Trying out Some PokerStars...Help on DON's PLEASE!!!

Continued to play on UB and made an even greater profit than my last post and cashed out once again in order to have sufficient funds for next week. Went donkalicious with the last $100 or so I had in my account after that and went broke...I did learn that when I try to force it I bluff too often, and unfortunately get caught. Anyone have any idea on the rate in which pros bluff? Or does it all depend on the specific circumstances? Regardless, I used to be a fish, and now SharkScope has me as a shark...I'm no shark and on top of that I feel that I have not played enough games since I reset my username.

Got on PokerStars last night and started to play...it had been a while since the last time. I'm going to stick to the $1.10 45-man Turbo's, $2.20 90-180 man Turbo's, and varying between $3.50-11 6-man Turbo's (since that has become my bread and butter as of late). Of course I'll play a slightly larger one if I'm running extremely well and I have more than a general notion of who I would be pitted against. I just can't deal with the 9 or 10 player format anymore when playing for bigger stakes which is a huge problem because the majority of tourneys are 9-seated. Action junkies need their fix.

On the topic of DON's...I know that some people (from some of the posts I have read in this forum) make a substantial profit in the DON's. I feel I get too passive with them, and then you make these pushes towards the end and its a coinflip. Anyone have any sound advice or can direct me towards some information on how to crush DON's. Sry for the long post, but doing this before I go to work in the next 20 minutes might just get me through the day.

Well from experience playing on PokerStars almost exclusively I can say you won't exactly crush the dons no matter what. If you are really good at them you should run at about a 7% ROI in the 10dollar dons. As you go from there you can expect your ROI margins to go down. If you are able to play a large amount of sitngos I would suggest sticking with the 180 mans and 45 mans where you could maintain a 25% ROI in the 2 dollar 180 mans if you are just a decent player and have studied them to some degree. If you only play part part time than I would suggest sticking with dons but that is all up to how you want to play poker. Playing dons is not really a venue in which you will play poker like you are supposed to. If you are a tried and true poker player I would put in some volume and play the 180 and 45 mans. If you are trying to grind up a bank roll than I would stick to the dons until you get up to a comfortable amount of money. The 180 and 45 mans have some sick variance where you can quite possibly have 200 game downswings in the 180s and if you play part time than this can be quite frustrating unless you are a near full time or full time grinder. Hope this helps.
