Game Selection

One thing that I've been experimenting with this month, that I hadn't really done before, is labeling regs for game selection purposes. This can be a bit of a challenging when you're 15-tabling, but I've been managing so far. There are certain spots where I have a bit more time to go through my tables to label ppl, like when launching and winding down sets. Ultimately, I hope to have a lot of the regs marked up as I build up volume.

Here's a table from earlier today that is a perfect example of what I'm trying to avoid in the future:

Poker is getting quite tough these times, I know how you're feeling buddy. I'm really respecting that you're not only trying to improve gaming skills but also other relevant factors like table selection. This is another good way to improve your hourly and have better results longterm.

Keep the good work up and keep us updated!

See you at the tables, coinflip Smile

Hey, Confl1p. I've only recently started color coding ppl over the past <1k games, and I'm still unsure whether it's really helpful or not. On the one hand it helps me avoid the really reg-infested games, and I actually kind of enjoying labeling people. On the other hand, it takes a good amount of concentration to manually color code ppl when you're 15-20 tabling, and I can't help but wonder if going for volume and focusing exclusively on the poker is better. One thing that's in my favor is that it could get easier as I get more people marked up, we'll see. I can't help but wonder if there's an easier way to game select though.

I think besides the use of analysis software like PT3 or HM color coding is the best way to improve your game because you avoid regulars and get them marked all with time cuz you will be facing them very often. Also you will color aggressive maniacs who will be the main source of money, just adapt to their aggressive play by playing tight. As your database grows you can focus more on the game. I would recommend to only mark players if you're really sure about their aggression frequency, I would also recommend to make some notes from time to time if you will face strange actions or even write a note about their sharkscope stats which could highlight your asumption.

Thanks for your pespective. Since i'm playing DONs exclusively, I'm playing super tight and fit or fold on the rare occasiona where I'm playing a flop, so I actually feeling like it's only really important to mark up the tight players so that I can avoid them in lobby view.
