December Goals

So after my [relatively successful] trial week I've decided to focus my energy at playing more mtts. I feel more confident that my game has improved a lot, and I'm able to handle them now. I have played a lot of Super Turbos, and I would say that playing them has helped me practice my shove/fold part of my game in mtts, especially in the later parts of the tournament and final table when the blinds are steep and stacks are short.

But I do want to start to stray away from playing Super Turbos now, and with a bigger bankroll there are better options that I should consider. Although I have played a lot of them and still not made a substantial profit, I still don't regret it and I've learnt a lot from playing them. Multi tabling for me is easy now, I can play up to 12 tables, and I feel that this is essential for playing online these days, double especially if you have rakeback.

My plan is to finish off December playing mostly MTTs, scheduled tournaments, and turbo SNGs. I want to achieve Iron Man status this month by not playing any more Super Turbos! Come January tho I will probably play them again to get the mid year bonus asap.

Goals 8th Dec to 31st Dec
- 700 MTTs/Tournaments, around 30 a day
- 700 $6 Turbo sngs, around 30 a day
- Play longer sessions and show more profit by cashing big in scheduled tournaments. I can play in anything $6 or under. If I reach over $2k bankroll I will allow myself to move up to $10 buy ins.

Its kinda interesting looking back at my previous months goals which consisted of playing 3000 sngs in a month, and now I'm playing 700, which is tiny in comparison, but now things take much longer to do! The turbo sngs are longer, but there is a bit more play and more hud information you can gather about your opponents. Things are going decently so far, hopefully I'll have a good month...

Biggest difference you are going to see is your variance, and how much longer you stuck on the downside of that variance. The beautiful thing of the super turbos is that by putting out such a massive volume your downswings might only last a week, where as turbo sng and mtt could last a whole month.

That being said supers can wear you down fast, I can't imagine 12 tabling but I was 9 tabling and just a couple of hours would drain me. Probably since its so much action not a lot of thinking.

I have little experience in the long term/stats on mtt but I do believe that superturbos are one of the most profitable per hour tournaments to play at the lower stakes. Especially if you are able to 12 table. I know my roi wasn't much different between turbos and super turbos (one was 8% and the other 7% i believe) but the volume difference is over double (or more can't even remember, been awhile).

Anyways good luck at the tables, Hope you have a big run.
