Reflection on September
As September draws to a close, I'm am pretty bummed out to say that the results have not been going my way. So no cigar, no Alba unfortunately...
I am pissed about the way things have turned out at the $16s, 3 months ago after finally crushing the $6s 2 months in a row after playing a ton of games I really did think that I could consider myself a winning player, and that I could start to make some money now. Granted, even if I was shit $1 a game should still land me a few G's with the volume I can put in.
But that just isn't the way things have turned out. I would probably have made more money playing the $6s, but fuck it, its all a process and I'm still a student of the game. I've had this experience of continuously feeling being under EV at the $6's, and well, this picture of all my $16s here tells the story...

I've stopped posting complainy style threads on forums asking "Is this normal?" shit, coz 1. Its not constuctive and 2. Will get responses like this;
- "$16s are not profitable games anymore, too many regs, play MTTs or Cash"
Then I will respond like this;

Week in week out I've checked these guys and their results are solid. So they're obviously doing something I'm not. They are better then me. I will keep trying, keep improving and NOT GIVE UP like all those other "STT complainers" who aren't willing to work hard after hitting a blip.
I am doing something wrong, its my fault and I will correct it. Variance sucks, and yesterday I played 164 games and got crushed in 3 sets losing $500, which was literally 6 days previous worth of grinding. Truth be told I'm winning small, then losing big. My long sessions generally speaking tend to lose big rather then make a lot of money. I am making too many mistakes.
This rant has a bit of negativity to it, and I'm sorry about that. So to positive it up I'm pleased to say that I'm well on course to make Supernova within the first year of playing properly on PokerStars. I have around 35000 VPPs left, which is around 6000 $16s and that's easily achievable with 2k games a month. Of course I will try and get that sooner and reap the benefits quickly! I'm saving my FPPs and it will pay off!
When I started the year I played $3 STTs and moved up! I've probably deposited all together $300, and used that to make tons, and pay for a holiday half way across the world to visit my best friend! I hope things will continue that way, gonna keep working hard!
In October I plan to put in solid numbers. I want to reach 3000 games, so I'm gonna try and play 90 games a day min. If I put in good volume next month, hopefully I can get Supernova by November which would be good coz I plan to visit Hong Kong in December (where my parents are from). I loooove HK and its gonna be a great incentive to keep going. Next year I plan to go to Thailand too, so gonna my ass in gear and step it up!
Comments
You are planning on playing every day in October? That is too much, you need at least 2 days a week totally away from the game. Believe me when I tell you that I have learned this from experience. I basically love the game and think about it all the time but I take 3 days a week to totally drop it as much as possible. This way when it is time to start my work week I am fresh and really hungry to play. Try to reign in your desire to play and it will be much easier to play when things are going bad and you will also most likely run better because you will feel fresher.
Do not hesitate to step down and try to crush a 500 game sample at the 6.50's. It will boost your confidence. I actually noticed Venetian playing a few hundred of the 6.50's and wacking the BOP Leaderboard for a first place. A good player is not afraid to step down and dosent even consider it a sign of failure. If you love the game and continue studying you will improve.
You may also want to try adding some 45-mans. If you can beat STT's you can beat these easily. They make the day a little more interesting and you would use nearly the exact same strategy you would use for a STT. There is more variance in these things but there are also more worse players as compared to the 16's.
good luck!

Devasted I'm not included in that list of profiting players lol. Yeah you wont profit as your a huge FISH! Jokes, dude you will make profit at these as you are a great player and have potential to be even better
I think you should set aside 1 week to play nothing but online poker. Fight through it whether you are winning or losing. Continual play will allow you to spot mistakes, help build the confidence up and get so used to different situations it beomes second nature.
Hope you smash it in October so I can take all your money off you at the International
