Adapt to the Regs
I just finished a set where I almost fell off my chair with the number of regs there were. Its not the fact that there were tons of regs that was surprising to me, coz at the $16s that's totally normal.
It was the fact that when I signed up to my games, there probably was one other reg registering on the list too, so I didn't expect them to be that tough. Normally good regs wont sign up to your games, but I guess its Friday night... when the Fish come out, the Sharks come' fishing!
What really made me proud was that despite the negative EeVeeness of these games, I think I adjusted really well and still made a profit.
Its been a real turning point a few days ago when I was talking to my coach about my strategies. To beat a reg, you have to not think like a reg! As confusing as it sounds, I've adapted a bunch of strategies which is pretty advanced stuff, to cope with the insane amount of shove happy regs, and it seems to be paying off. Another good thing about playing this way is that it makes it less boring and robotic.
I've always been kinda stubborn about playing these STTs, refusing to change games. I do think that eventually I might move to MTTs, but not until I feel like I've "conquered" these 9 man turbos.
I think that last month I was really satisfied with my game and really looking forward to putting in the volume. But in reality my mentality was bad coz I stopped studying as much, didn't watch as many vids or looking at HHs. The studying never ends! I've signed up to SNG Grinders and bought Pimpindonk's series. For me, these videos really helped me tons and are totally badass;
- (To get started) Negreanu's small ball series on Poker VT
- Live commentary thought process Cash Games on Poker VT is sick idea and really interesting.
- Glitlr's STT series on Grinderschool.com [A MUST SEE for STTers)
- Spacegravy's vids inc 20 Tabling vid.
- Pimpindonk's mass multi tabling vid, has great examples of how to use HUD live.
- Nick Rainey's SNG series.
- Annette15's new vids on Poker VT showing some real unauthodox but effective strategies.
My parents are going on a trip for a week so I'll be home alone, which means I can really concentrate on getting in a sick volume before I go to Australia next week. I am gonna try to get to 2000 games by the 20th, and the prop bet I have with L_Usher87 is great motivation (Thanks dude!) Although I reckon he's winning at the moment coz he sneakily played a bunch of $27s so he gets more VPPs for those games.
On a side note, I drove for the first time since passing my test and its scary as shit! New car, and different feel/pressure on the foot pedals doesn't help, but its cool, only stalled about 5 times! Once at a traffic light I stalled and missed the green light coz of it, and I could feel the daggers from the drivers behind me lol!

The graph is looking really solid dude. The side bet has been great motivation! Just searched how many $25s I've played in August and its 202. So I'll class them as $16s to make it more of a sweat
which means taking of 1111VPP tally for the month and puts my August tally at 5600 with the 1111 taken off. Whats your total at? I bet you can't wait for Australia! What car you got?

nice graph. Australia is amazing. where are you going when you are there?
