POW! ZACK! WAAACK!

LOLicons, (that's a new pokemon I've invented) I'm back to the $6.50's again, I managed to survive a massive FOUR DAYS (yes capitalisations needed... and word four needed because you cant capitalise a number) at the $16s.

It was a fun ride (when winning) but my roll is back to $1200 so I'm gonna drop down and regrind the $6.50s again til $1600 again and give it another go. My small $16s adventure basically got up to $1900, but then swiftly dropped to $1200 as quick as it went up. Actually, took 2 days really, but it really did feel a lot quicker then that. Having 1 winning set outta 13 will do that.

I guess its always gonna be interesting when I get to the $1600 roll again on whether I will try it again. The $16s is where I wanna be for sure, and the 50 buy in drop was pretty harsh imo, considering the improvements of my game.

Granted, I haven't really run bad in a while now and when it happens its super gross. You lose all confidence in your game. All decisions you make you question (because most of the decisions you make will lose since your running bad), and you question your ability. I actually find myself playing longer and more games when running bad to try out variance the bastard, and less when I'm winning coz I'm scared of losing the winnings. Probably bad to do so...

I think I'm gonna challenge myself to getting platinum again by the end of this month. So that's 12 days to get 4500 vpps, which is effectively 150 $6s a day. Gonna practice my multi tabling skills and probably aim to get to around 20 tables per set.

Why not wait until you get to 2500 so that if you run bad initially on 16s you can sustain the losses and keep going......... just a thought. GL!

Yep, definately a good point. I guess I'm inpatient and really wanna test out the whole 100 buy ins theory. Do you think that 150 buy ins is more adequate? Normally a 50 buy in drop isn't that common, I haven't had one in ages...

The reason I would suggeest going to 150 buy ins is so that you can take a loss. If you are pushing your bankroll every session that you play, you'll have to drop down to a lower limit everytime you hit a loss....which will happen. A lot of decent players don't step down because it's like a slap to the face and that's when they end up crippling their roll unless they run well..... 150 buy ins gives you a nice buffer to take some losses without having to stress about it or have to step down....the more you have the easier it is to play your best....GL!

I would probably still be playing the $16 with $1200, 75 buy ins is enough to grind with imo. losing 700 in 2 days must hurt tho so it is probably good for your mentality to move down and get some wins. Do they run much different at $16 to $6.50? Also you playing 18 mans or STT's? 50 buy ins at STT's is hideous and might not just be variance but i dont know.

Hey man,

Yeah I'm playing STTs. I don't really see much difference in play with the $6s and $16s, the only thing is that there are a lot more regs [mostly bad] at the $16s for sure. However, from my experience of probably something like 300 games I've never seem more terrible ICM bubble calls at 300 games ever!

I have run through a review of my games and I have been a bit timid in some spots, probably coz I was losing, but nothing major. I have improved a looot in these games so I'm putting it down to mostly variance.

What would be your bankroll rules? How many buy ins would you move down in playing STT sngs?

probably would be the same as you (100 buy ins) at $6.50 and up. I would move up at 100 buy ins for that lvl im moving too but prob not move back down until i hit about 60 buy ins. I dont play STT's tho so i might be less conservative with less variance.
