Why Positivity Rules, and Negativity Fucks You Up

My new computer has been working hard at importing my hands... only 8 hours to go!! LOL

Sooo I'm blogging again, but its cool I love doing it, especially now that I'm doing it more for me then you guys (though your fully welcome to read it!).

The last few days I've been really into something called "Real Social Dynamics".

Tilt Spending and Looking Back

So yesterday I played 2 sets and decided to record the 3rd one. I had been feeling a bit better after finally making some progress on Monday as my bankroll was moving in the right direction again. But low and behold, 18 tabling $16s I click the replay hand history button and everything freezes and crashes. After some frantic force restart, I login to Pokerstars to find that everything had been reset to default! This had happened before, so I quickly looked for my user.ini file that I backed up to my external and loaded it, before saving maybe 3 or 4 sets.

Take a Break or Grind Thru It?

I haven't blogged in a while so I've decided that I will take a lil break from grinding the $16 Turbo STTs and write some shit down! Apparently blogging is good for you, in the book I'm ereading on my iPhone 4 (Snaaap!) called 59 Seconds.

The Whiplash

This month I have been getting crushed like never before. That is, numbers wise of course! Back in Feb I was getting crushed but I had no idea what I was doing, so this is quite different. Nothing can prepare you for a good ol' fashioned beat down by the Poker Gods!

My friend suggested that it could possibly be that last month I ran super good, and this month I'm running super bad, and the real EV is somewhere in the middle. My graph agrees, and I am therefore in submission to accept this nasty bit of variance.

My total EV (showdowns only) of $16s so far...

Casino Donkfest Galore

I'm in Sheffield for a few days hanging out with a friend. Its kinda nice to get away from the usual surroundings and see how my friend lives his life. Of course, my laptop is insta-shipped also and I still expect myself to grind out my games. Its also going to be a mini experiment on how I can cope from playing my STTs on my small 15" screen without my external monitor, as I intend to do a lot of travelling this year - I've just booked a ticket to see my other friend who lives in Perth! So far so good!

Money in a Cage

Yesterday was just one of those days. Looosing days. Yum!

And what hurts more is that it was on a Saturday, filled with fat, gambling, clueless donks. And I couldn't hit shit! Its like having money right in front of me and not being able to take it. Pownnnnnned!

I'm trying to be more anti red line, but here's my month so far, 271 games;

When is Gambling Not Gambling?

I had a conversation with my mom who has a rather conservative way of thinking. "So how is the poker gambling, are you addicted yet?" she patronisingly asked.
I replied, "Well firstly, I don't consider it gambling for me, more like game theory." Then I asked her, "Consider a tennis tournament where 8 players all pay $100 to enter, and the prizepool is distributed to the winner, is that gambling then?"
"No..."
[She changes subject]

Which got me thinking, where is the line drawn from what we consider to be gambling? And why are some forms of gambling more acceptable then others?

1/2 Year Report

When I started playing, I quickly decided that one of my goals was to make enough money to be able to travel and visit my "international" friends. One of the benefits of playing is that I can still earn my moneyz where ever I am in the world with my laptop. Having this freedom is great, and with nothing locking me down I'm free to go whenever I want, for however long I want.

Get To Where You Wanna Be

Its been a long time bloggin' (for me anyways), and I'm now currently 18 tabling $16s, and gonna start mixing in some $27s. At the beginning of the year, switching to Stars and Turbo SNGs was something that I wanted to do, and I wanted to get to the $16s and eventually Supernova. Its funny how I started with the $3s, and slowly moved up up up! I wonder how many guys have done the same thing as me?

Koreans, Brits, and World Cup Madness!

Took 2 days off during the weekend to hang out with some friends in London and watch the football. Yes, FOOT-ball, you yanks, where we use our feet! My friends are Korean, so we had a nice day watching the Korea match then the England one.
