Probably just variance. Your ROI at this level is 5.8% +- 1.9% so you're bound to have some long downswings. But you'll always end up winning in the long term.

The only other two things likely to be having an affect are: 1) the quality of the opponents - may be they were tougher yesterday; 2) once a downswing starts you can get tilted. Always stop if you find yourself making donk moves.

Setting yourself a target of playing 3000 of one type of tournament in a single month is likely might make you more likely to suffer from both these problems.

I like to switch between tournament types as it feels easier to forget the bad beats that happened before. You might want to consider a more flexible target i.e. 3000 tournies rather than 3000 52 DoNs or have a profit target instead. I also find switching tournament types keeps you fresher generally.

i think the problem yesterday was a bit of playing with worse players. i know how to play monday-saturday but do bad sundays in higher stakes stuff. need to change up my play on sundays. sucks to be down to 5.8% roi when i was 8 3 weeks ago.

can't slow down because my goal is 400k vpps this year.

Ah yeah that makes sense - assuming your opponent can play when they are in fact a donk can really muck your game up.

Looks like things going really well today so far Wink Good luck keeping it going.

thanks, yes, today was much better, made up for all my losses yesterday. i'll probably make a blog tomorrow night after that session.

something about sundays though in DON's for me i can't do well. hopefully i figure it out soon.

Landsbanki, i might ask you to do some of your math in like a week or two and let me know closer what my ROI is. I don't know how to figure it out to a +- amount.

No problem. In fact I'll do a blog entry explaining how to calculate it. You just need sharkscope and Excel.
