Hi everyone,

Sharscopers noob here....

Been playing a ton of SNGs as of late, and have made friends with a few of the regs in my games, who post here.

Figured I would create my very first blog, and hopefully keep it updated as much as possible.

What field size mtts did you play?

every size Smile

Ahh I see so you play the big dogs. Yea the variance is nuts. You basically have to have all your expenses paid for a year and enough roll to support it. My friend Adam Junglen is nuts at mtts but he will go like negative 100k to finally score that 250k win that sets him up for the whole year. If you got the support and cash to hold you up you can make huge cash its just not a great thing for every day joes who need a paycheck every week for rent and bills. Sure once in a while you hit a massive score of 10k+ but they are far and few between when you need cash every week. I mean even Darvin Moon can score a big hit and probably will piss it away thinking he can keep it going when in reality its not steady income.

wow... you started a blog... gl

Great story,

Luv the part ''hobby-player'' versus ''pro-player''.
Hope to do it myself 1 day, yet so far away.
Hope u keep this updated, i will read all.

Goodluck.

Hi nbfb42.
I just want to let you know my point of view. I have made a similar decision (shifted from a full time job to a part time one) and I have had similar difficulties (you can read my blog if you want). The solution I have chosen, and I think you can choose it too, is very simple: play at lower stakes.
I used to grind 9 men turbo sngs at 100€ (the maximum allowed here in Italy) but I had tremendous swings, so now I play 27 men turbo sngs at 10€. This way I am earning 30€/hour... I don't know your life-style, but if you think that 5000 dollars/month are enough for your living, you can play similar sngs for 8 hours/day, 5 days/week.
GL.

I'm curious - how did you find people to fund you? I just got my first two takers of people to invest in my live MTT's but that was just by chance and for smaller stakes. How did you seek investors?

Mel, I think nobody will give you money if you don't proove to be not only a good player, but such a genius of poker. So I think you better:
1) start studying poker in a serious way, buying books, watching videos, reading forums, and so on;
2) charge 100$ and play 1$ or 2$ sngs (or few people mtts) to start building a bankroll;
3) keep studying and keep grinding always at 1% or 2% of your bankroll

hey mel if you are interested in being stacked msg me on my account here through email and i will respond with a private way to get a hold of me if you are interested.

Evidently, I was completely wrong !!! Smile

mel- a good place to find stakers is thru www.parttimepoker.com
