The nasty side of Poker
Yes everyone says that they are getting unlucky when they aren't winning, but I generally am according to HEM! 9 days into the month and I am $1700 down so far, according to HEM, with EV I should be breaking evens, however evens still isn't good. I would definitely have to say that this is the worst chunk of variance I have ever experienced(-$1700EV over 600 games FML!).
So there are definitely some leaks to be picked up on. Some great advice that my pal 147_star gave me is because I am 25 tabling unless I step it down to a fewer number of tables e.g. 6 tables, it will be very hard to spot leaks. I finally stepped it down to 6 tables towards the end of the night and made some profit from 6 tabling. I noticed that early stages my range from early position is too wide. Looking at my finish positions I am obtaining more 2nd's than 1st's and busting too many too early. So these are the things I'm going to try and focus on on tomorrow. Most likely I am playin too many hands early on and not being able to fold hands to 3 bets etc. I hope I find some errors and fast I can't afford to lose too much more money!
I tried to incorporate the HEM HUD into my game in the middle of my losing streak. ERROR. When you change the way you play its going to take time to adapt, therefore your going to make less money in the short run, thus adding to my loses already obtained for september. The plan tomorrow is to 6 table some more and not try to bring anything new into my game, I was averaging $1.20+ a table, so whilst im on a bad run there is no real need for new change, except for the leaks.
Im quite proud of myself for not playing a $100 hyper turbo tourney towards the end of the night as I have been lately, trying to find a quick way to chase my loses. I've assured Puyan that I won't be playing any hyper turbos (except for the $10.20 hyper turbo tourney at 11.20, which is in my price range!) and I'm sticking to it. A spark of hope availed towards the end of the night when I ran deep in a tourney of 2k players, unfortuantely I bustod in 35th, shipped 88 short stacked to a min raise oly to run into kings, they held

gross graph. sucks when you are going for vpps and volume and trying to improve your game by playing very few at a time. its worth it in the long run though.
