Discipline

Discipline is an important aspect of poker and a sometimes forgotten one. Tonight I played a few MTTs as wasn't feeling great and not much in the mood for poker. A few bustos later I decided it was time to hit the grind, mostly for the fact I now had too many energy drinks in my system (sign of a true degen
). After reggin in 25 games I just thought to myself why am I playing, I'm tired and really not in the mood, why not just go to bed and get up earlier tomorrow? So for once I decided to listen to my brain, instead of just saying 'meh' and carrying on with the poker I actually unregistered all my games and closed Pokerstars. A decision, which tomorrow when looking back, was a very sensible one.
For my short amount of play tonight its been a good one. Managed to cash the turbo takedown and make it 4/4 cashes this year in them, so a nice little $300 consecutive cash bonus coming my way
No idea what the 'new turbo takedown' will be. Disappointed they are changing it to quarterly as I really enjoyed a monthly FPP bonus tourney. The prize pool was understandably reduced due to the absence of US players, but I'm really hoping they keep the quarterly supernova at a mil
Bit pissed that I didn't save my BOP ticket for tonight as the field was massively low!
My comments on the US fiasco is the same as everyone else; its bad. It doesn't feel like it , but I got to be grateful that I'm in a luckier situation than most; I'm doing this part-time and I'm not in the US. I can go and get a part-time job through the rest of uni if poker stopped altogether. Its my fellow grinders that I feel for. People do this for their livelihoods, its so unfair that the US government have taken peoples jobs away. Its a retarded way to go about the poker situation in the US, just hope long-term something good arises from this.
On a brighter note just booked a holiday to Albufeira, Portugal for a week, which is something to look forward to
Was really hoping to go Vegas this year, but its looking doubtful as poker for the first quarter has gone pretty poor, just hope this is the lowest point and things change.
