Sun will see kick off of Verizon 4G

Coming Sunday, Dec. 5, Verizon Wireless will launch its 4G network. The 4G technology Verizon is using is called LTE. 4G simply means that this is the fourth generation wireless network. The Verizon 4G systems are being rolled out without any cell phones that support the technologies, meaning individuals must wait until January to get a full hands-on experience.

Verizon now having technology that is 4G LTE

The Verizon 4G network is the company's fourth generation wireless technology. There's a 4G wireless network called WiMax. This is exactly what Sprint Nextel released. The LTE 4G is different than WiMax 4G. You will find common areas both wireless technologies could be used at. These areas are airports and large metropolitan areas. Smaller wireless transmission points placed together quite close are what both technologies need. The claims of Verizon’s LTE 4G systems are great ones. Supposedly, 12 megabits per second come in. Sprint's 4G states peak-download speeds of "more than 10 megabits per second.".

Only limited areas are starting to see the Verizon 4G LTE network. Of course, by 2013, the business plans to replace all of the 3G networks with this. The biggest issue for Verizon Wireless, though, is its lack of phones. The 4G network on Verizon will only be available with USB modems. Customers wanting other cell phones have been lost though.

There is a demand for speed when it comes to wireless networks. It costs money to get speed though. The 4G network is expected to do the exact same thing the 3G network did. All of the Unlimited data plans made the network crippled. The pricing Verizon has shown for the 4G network is different. It will give limits to the network. There is no unlimited plan for the Verizon 4G network. You'll end up spending $80 a month for 10 gigabits. Of course, five gigabits will end up costing you $50 is you need less. Possessing only five gigabits of data limits you to 1,000 or so web pages. It may also allow for 200 minutes of YouTube videos and 500 Facebook photos can be uploaded.
