heads up
how do you play against somebody who always raise min. or 3x the amount on the button. i get sick of it and re raise a lot. but he always finds a hand and goes over the top with jj or ak it seems like. is there a stradegy to this. if you just call. you kow he still can have an ace if the flop comes 7 j a and your holdin jk. its a difficult task playing these guys

I always try to keep the pot small with these players preflop. They won't fold preflop once they have invested money so a reraise will do nothing as far as defining their hand. My strategy is just keep the pot small unless you hit a good flop and then take their chips. Thats the nice thing about these players, they are frustrating as hell but their chips are easy to take.
I try to fold blinds to then early. I never rearaise with non premium hands. After a few times when u hit em with that reraise all in and get there fold. if they continue to do it stay patient, u will get a hand again to push, or smooth call if ur that strong and eventually win. If u finally get a hand worth playing and it just so happens he has a monster, it sux, but cant be helped, and is a bad side of poker
Basically you want to play in position as much as possible and avoid playing out of position unless you have a strong hand. When you do have a strong hand and you are out of position 3-bet him, 3x his raise. Then donkbet most dry flops into him.
You have to try to put the player on a hand range based on the frequency of his raises. If he is literally raising every button then he is filtering no hands and everything is in his range. You need to 3-bet him aggressively with suited mid cards like J9s, all decent sized kings, all aces, and all pocket pairs.
You should be raising your button almost every time and c-betting all dry flops until he starts playing back at you.
You need to get comfortable betting with what seems to be garbage to most people. Heads up is completely different from other forms of poker and requires you to play a wider range much more aggressively.

I agree these players are the most difficult to play against. It forces you to play hands for more than you would like, and to re-raise with a wider range. I think you have to raise enough to force them to make critical decisions with marginal hands themselves. I hate it when these matches deteriorate into 35bb coinflips with hands like K8s vs A6o
