deep stacks
Deep stack is now the only type of poker i think i want to play. by deep i mean 200bb plus. It requires so much more skill and is less on how u run. Its much more fun playing 2/4 tables 250bb deep, its a totally different game to SnGs and tournaments. It is even totally different from 100bb poker. I have found myself with 24 suited on the button with a raiser and about 3 to 1, the raiser has 100bb and i think he isnt deep enough to make it +ev. The tables are still soft at the low levels, and it is really easy to pick up a fair few small pots as bigger stacks seem to make people real timid. A crazy LAG style would work for sure, but i dont know if i have the nuts for this atm. i suggest you get on these table alex u would love them, get to apply reads and theory far more effectively than SnGs and short cash. Heres my graph for today (i was formely losing on reline by a fair bit). This doesnt include my $54 pot from yesterday, i upgraded to windows 7 and reinstalled pokertracker.

showdown winnings > non showdown winnings, always.
I don't know why you're talking about being all in when all showdown requires is getting to the river with two live hands? Opening aces and getting three streets of value when they flop top pair => showdown winnings.

Deepstacked tables actually have tonnes of variance - pots are so much bigger and you need a bigger bankroll for them compared to standard 100BB cash games for sure.
You're right about it being a totally different game as well. I've been dipping a toe in on 4max tables recently and there are some similarities - being so short handed makes an aggressive style really profitable vs most tables. It becomes easier to isolate the fish and play pots with them, even more so than in 6max.
Good to see you're having a nice run; although that 300ish hand sample doesn't say ~anything about what you can expect in the long term. In the long run it'll be very hard to maintain a red line in profit or around even - most of the time (especially at these low stakes) your non-showdown line will be in loss - what you had before sounds about right. The one that really counts is the showdown one as this is more where money is won and lost.
