start of the month

Played a total of two days thus far this month and im happy with the results. I actually think im below EV as i had a run of 30 games with 2 cashes (both were wins). But the overall amount of $ and % im winning are still high and thats really positive. I was doubting whether i could win over very long periods as it hasnt happened in a while but i definetly think i have now found my niche. results so far for June are

The Month of May

Not a bad month i suppose hes the graph, going to continue with the 18 man sit n gos Smile. Cashing out reguarly becoz i am skint as feck and there is literally almost no jobs in this country so Sad. I was even going to join the pigs at one point but they arent recruiting till jan 2011. Not bad volume but crappy profit and stuff. The last 200 or so games are all $3 18 mans. Played one just now alongside about 20 20bb cash games and won that. Yep i won a HU (my 33 held up against K10).

still grinding

Played about 70 today ($3 18 player). First session was a bit rubbish, only played 24 and booked a $4 loss. 2nd session was far better and i played around 50 for a profit of around $40. Im happy with 11 buy ins up for the day, however i am not happy about the fact that i got heads up 12 times and won wait for it ZERO times. I got it in good (60/40 70/30 etc) about 9 out of the 12 and i still lost them all. I need to work on heads up a bit but i do feel like a i get seriously unlucky when i got to heads up today.

18 mans

I have recently finished uni and i was skint after insuring my car so i dropped down from $6 18 mans to $3 18 mans. Despite the proportionally much higher i am making more per game in the $3 than in the $6. So im gonna grind up a roll to play the $6 again in the $3 but if i continue to have mediocre results i may stay at $3. Small sample size etc etc i know but meh Smile i have been running better in the $3 than the $6 and obviously the standard of play is worse. The extra rake at the $3 really really bugs me though, its only 10cent less than next level which is 2x the stake.

deep stacks

Deep stack is now the only type of poker i think i want to play. by deep i mean 200bb plus. It requires so much more skill and is less on how u run. Its much more fun playing 2/4 tables 250bb deep, its a totally different game to SnGs and tournaments. It is even totally different from 100bb poker. I have found myself with 24 suited on the button with a raiser and about 3 to 1, the raiser has 100bb and i think he isnt deep enough to make it +ev. The tables are still soft at the low levels, and it is really easy to pick up a fair few small pots as bigger stacks seem to make people real timid.

0.05/0.1 with 0.02 antes

the scene, stars new 250bb tables, im sitting on $27 after a few small pots. Villain has $42. I flat 1010 for 5BB on the button. 3 to flop, me (button) raiser (cutoff) and another caller (hijack).
Flop 10Q3 rainbow
Hijack checks,cutoff bets .70 into $1.83 i flat.
Hijack raises to $2.70 Cutoff folds. Pot is now $5.93 I reraise to $10.30
Pot is now $15.53. Hijack tanks forever and shoves his remaining $30 odd (effective $16.92) i snap him off
He flips 33 for bottom set i flop 1010 for mid set.
brick brick 2 A and i scoop $54.17 on a .10 table.

redline!

In an effort to sort out my redline i am going to cut back to 4 tables for a while to improve my post flop game. As you can imagine moving from turbo SnGs to cash many adjustments need to be made the chief of these is playing turns and especially rivers. For those of u who dont have pokertracker your redline is the line at which you win or in my case lose when not seeing a flop. For almost everyone thier redline goes level or slightly down unless they play 1 table or something.
