A question on heads-up
Hi guys... I have a question for you all.
I think that I am now a good turbo sng grinder... when I play I almost always control what me and my opponents do and my ROI confirms that (15% at 30€ and 25% at 50€). But I think I am not so good in heads-up, so I want your opinion based on these data: I have analyzed all the sngs where I reached HU and I discovered that I won the 53% of HU at 30€ and the 57% at 50€.
What do you think about these percentages? Are they good, fair or bad? Do I need to improove much more or just a little more? What book/video do you suggest me to get?
Thanks to everybody.

If you were playing €50+€2.50 HU sng's, winning 57% of the time would give you an ROI of 8.6%. Many of the top HU SNG players don't average this high. I did all the calculations when I used to be big into HU sng's, and I realized that anyone who could maintain a 5-10% ROI in the $50+ games is really good. 53% would be just above breaking even with rake.
Optimal non HU SNG numbers might be a little bit different.
"I supposed that at high stakes (1000$+) such roi is very good"
Actually, at the $1,000+ HU sng's, even a 5% roi is almost unheard of. Most of those guys making $100,000+ in these games have 2-4% ROI's.
Of all the SNG styles, HU SNG's usually yield the lowest ROI's (They also finish the quickest though, which makes up for that). It's lots of frustrating back and forth action, which the high blinds at the end of a full table turbo SNG can amplify. Some people can maintain 10-20% roi's in HU sng's over the long-term, which is really impressive!
I'm glad you're getting back on track. It's motiving to see you come back so much stronger after getting burnt out and taking a break.
Heads up SNG roi of top $1,000+ buy-in players:

I've played 1076 6 seater turbos with an ROI of 28% on Stars.
I've reached Heads Up 522 times i.e. nearly 50%. Which is a fantastic strike rate.
Once heads up I've won 267 and lost 259 i.e. about 50%. So I clearly make all my money by reaching Heads Up rather than winning Heads Up.
Why? My feeling is (I have no data to support it) that I enter heads up on average well behind by playing on the bubble in a way to maximise my chances of getting to heads up.
So I think that Heads Up stats in SNGs could be misleading.
Impressive stats. I recently read Harrington on holdem Volume II. Section 12 goes through heads up play. It also goes through a head up session between Phil Ivey and John D'Agostino that is pretty interesting. You are probably looking for more advanced stuff but I figured I would metion it.

wow, those stats are great!!!
