A question about a hand

Hi guys... I'd like to know your opinion about this hand.
Did I play it well, almost well, almost bad or completely bad?
Thanks to everyone.

I think it depends on the tendencies of the early position limper. You definitely need to gamble with less than 7bb. I'm usually very cautious at this point in the tourney, especially when I'm not initiating the action. Players can get a little 'trappy' too...limping in from early position with 3 short stacks still to act is a little suspect, but like I said-depends on his tendencies. What's his VPIP? Have you seen him limp in and fold to a raise?

yeah your M is less than 3, you should be shipping a VERY wide range tbh. Even though the pot is limped, 22 is more than enough to get it in with. Sure the limper's stats might be useful but youve got no real time to wait for a better spot imo.

I would have pushed here too. With 7bb I'm pushing any pair into an unraised pot and hoping to win the race if called... and hoping that if it is called, it's a race.

Thanks, mates. Unfortunately I don't use Poker Tracker or other HUD tools, so I didn't know if the limper was going to fold his hand. By the way, that hand ended up with the BB calling and showing AJ, coinflipping, catching a J on the river and busting me out. The point was that I think that 22 is not so strong and maybe it was better for me to push 3 rounds later, when UTG. Anyway, it was really close.

Its hard to say, but im probably shipping it too. It depends on the guy utg. Has he been limpn alot? If so then insta push. If he has a mediocre hand he probably wont call, seeing as u could still put a nice dent in his stack, leaving him having to get aggressive and all in.

I think its standard to ship here, you'll be losing fold equity once the blinds hits you

Push & Hope ! Smile
Dont wait till you have to call in the BB with 92o

Your decision is definitely push fold with less than 10bb, however your not really in a rush to get it in yet. You still have fold equity with 4bbs. The problem with shoving the 2's here is that the early limper will most likely call and you are flipping or being dominated. I don't think you really have much fold equity against him, so I would fold. If on the other hand it had folded around to you I would open shove.

Infact, when I pushed, I had exactly these thoghts, Franchise.
I was in doubt about pushing or waiting to push with any two cards UTG.
It has been a coinflip (BB called and showed AJo) and I lost it.

wow... this is where i need to improve my game. I get very trigger-happy at 7bb with any pair!

Hey Giuseppe -

How do you get the table picture copied into your blog?

oh cool! i didn't know stars lets u convert ur money into euros on the table.

No, haowang010, that's Pokerstars.it, a subset of Pokerstars.com that can be used only in Italy by Italians, cause our government want to tax us more and more.
That's why you see euro currency.

-oopsibeatu-, just follow this menu-links: Blogs, New entry, Insert image or link.
You have to save the picture of the table, before, using the hardcopy key on the keyboard, pasting it into an image editor and then saving it.
