Diet
Yeah, you've read well: diet!
I have had an idea: since all Sharkscope's stuff (graphs, stats, blogs, videos, etc) has helped me so much in having discipline and becoming a winning (so far) poker player, I want to apply the same tools and the same rules to my weight, trying to get in shape and finally get rid of my big and horrible belly!
I don't know if I'll start tomorrow (my birthday) or on the 1st sept, but I'm strongly motivated to do it because it's really unpleasant, for a 36 years old good poker player, to weight 95 Kg.
Do you agree?
Ok, so I'll soon start a diet and take a Sharkscope-like graph of my weight and it must be equal to my profit-graph... in a decreasing fashion, of course

I just turned 36 this week also, and I bought myself a Weider PowerBell for my birthday. Swingin this thing around really gets the heart going and it really is a total body workout. I got the 40lb. bell which is a little expensive($200), but you can pick up the normal, non-adjustable ones, for pretty cheap just to get started.

Staying in shape is my specially. I have a few tips that might help you out.
Your best bet with exercising is to find a sport or activity that you really love doing. Exercise machines get old quick, but if you're doing something you love, you'll be more focused on having fun and getting better then how tired you are.
If you're not interested in many sports, then find a good workout routine that will challenge you aerobically. Here's a few things that come time mind -
- Jogging, if you can get into it, is one of the fastest ways to cut weight.
- CrossFit is a workout program that focuses on functional strength. Each day they post a new workout on their site for you to do. Although they usually don't take up much time, you have to give the workouts everything you've got to get through them. CrossFit is very community oriented and lot of people like to share their results after each day.
- P90x is the only late-night infomercial workout routine that works. I don't use it, but I've seen the dvd's and I know a few people who have had great success with it. The workouts focus on improving overall strength and fitness, and the circuit training style will have you pouring sweat and struggling to finish.
In terms of eating habits, It's better to eat a bunch of small meals rather then a few large ones. This will keep your metabolism moving, and since you'll always have something in your stomach, you'll never have the urge to stuff yourself.
Avoid adding things like butter, dressings, and sauces to your food. Even putting a few tablespoons of olive-oil onto your salad can be the difference between 30 calories and 330 calories. If you don't already, get used to reading labels to learn the calories and nutrition of the foods you're eating.
Also, learn to love water. Many people will start losing weight just from cutting soft-drinks out of their diet. Juices are really high in calories as well. Try drinking water cold, from the fridge. It's much better that way.
I definitely think that charting and logging your results will keep you motivated. I'm looking forward to following your ups and downs

I have used them for their real purpose less than a hour in 4 years !!!

It can be hard for people who sit all day in front of their computers. You should strive to do something daily that makes you breathe hard.
