A break

Tagged:

Hi friends.
I write this post just to know what do you think about a break. Yes, because today it's the third day I don't play poker and it never happened before...
Simply I have had no time to do it. But there is something more. Days ago, when it happened that I didn't play for just a day, I felt so restless, so eager, so anxious to play as soon as possible. This time is different. I don't feel such a compulsion, and it's strange because exactly now I was doing best (in terms of profit, roi, luck and a-game).
What do you think about that? Do you consider this a form of a reached poker-maturity or what else?
Thanks as usual for your suggestions.

i have the same problem, dont now why, 1kim1 on pokerstars

This is common when you reach the top of the learning curve in almost anything. When you're first figuring something out, there's always something new and exciting to learn. Breakthroughs come often, you're always seeing progress. Once that problem solving and learning phase plateaus a bit, it's easy to get burnt out.

My advice would be to take a break and don't feel bad about it. Re-assess why you started playing poker in the first place. I sometimes get totally burnt out from things, only to find myself better and more motivated then ever a month later.

I agree with dbirider. If you really enjoy playing poker you will get the urge to play again.
