Hi, welcome to my poker blog. I'll be talking a lot about results at the tables, but I'll also try and include topics like emotional control and bankroll management along the way.

Well, December 2009 was my best month ever as I made over $21k in SNGs and a little in cash games as well. I was definitely running pretty well, but I was very optimistic to start 2010. My goals for 2010 were to hit Supernova Elite, which means earning 1 million VPPs at the tables, and to earn $80k in SNGs. As you can see from the 2nd half of my linked image, 2010 has been a disaster. I've been running horribly and getting killed in the $104 Double or Nothing SNGs. I've experimented recently with sticking only with $52 and $54 DoNs, and it has gone pretty well as I've logged 9 hours and profited ~$1100. I've also gotten a pretty decent amount of VPPs/hour at ~630/hour.

To hit SNE, you need to average 2740 VPPs/day every day for the year. If I can average 630/hour playing only $52/54s, that means I'll only need to average a little under 4.5 hours of poker a day to reach my goal, which I think is doable. I'm currently at 66,002 VPPs, and by the end of today SNE pace will be 65,760, so I'm right where I need to be.

The $104 DoN SNGs are just an emotional and bankroll roller coaster right now, and while there is potential for huge months (like I had last month), you can also go on long, grueling downswings, and those really sap my will to keep playing poker, which you can't really have if you plan on hitting SNE. At the $52/54s, I feel a lot more confident, and the downswings aren't near as severe and won't play with my emotions as much. I will plan on sticking at this level for the time being, and re-evaluate in a week or so looking at both profit/hour and VPPs/hour.

Keep checking back as I plan on updating this blog at least weekly throughout the next year, maybe more.

FUCK 104'S. just played today and got killed. so many bad players getting so lucky. i'm down $1200 on the day because of them, then tilt to other shit.

Yah, they really are pretty crazy man. For some reason a lot of the "regs" love to call way too light which makes these things one huge variance fest.

yea i don't get that. if they are a reg they should be calling tighter. retards.
