July : To be Staked or not to be

After some what disapointing results in june, I feel like i need to grind even harder now to make up for the variance factor in June.. fyi when i say variance it doesnt mean i had a losing month, it just means i didnt achieve my "Expected ROI".

Still had a winning month just not what i had projected in my mind.. =ing slight dissapointment.. ok! enough about my whinnin.. i know some of the regs on stars probably experience much worse variance than i do so i really shouldnt complain..

So!.. to be staked or not to be staked.. reecently ive being corresponding with TEAM moshman regarding a possible staking for my SNG action. I am very excited that they would consider me to be part of their pack of horses plus its Colin Moshman !! we are talking about!! sickness...

anyways still thinking about the best option for me, so many disadvantages and advantages but i feel im leaning towards a staking just because i want to be coached and hopefully staked/move up for the $50+ SNG one day.

In other news ive started mixing $33's into my sets and playing the odd Turbo and KO STT's to up my hourly rate.. i think its being going pretty well.. i think for the $33 im like +$206 over 11 games lol! insignificant really but im so supertious and i read into signs so this just might be the "sign" i needed

I personally don't think its a great deal. If your already a winning player what insurance is it to give away 1/3 of your profits? Maybe if you were going for higher limits, or SNE possibly I'd see a reason for doing it.

I doubt hardly anyone ever reaches their expected red line in STTs. I wouldn't read anything into it, and take it to heart the fact that you should be making more, coz at the end of the day, everyone "should" be making more lol. If that's your reasoning for taking the staking, I'd make sure you read the fine print before signing, coz I reckon these deals are only worth making if they can substantially improve your $ per hour (not ROI coz that can be misleading) to make it worthwhile.

Just my opinion tho, GL whatever happens dude...

thanks for your thoughts pu yun, i tihnk i just always wanted a coach to up my game.. cause im sure there are strategys that im not fimilar with or use to applying yet.. especially at the higher levels.. but as well as these reasonings... i think the peace of mind is sometimes worth more in actual $$... Plus i want to get SN status and with it reek the benefits!!

You can definitely get a coach to get some guidance, and I highly recommend it. But you can get SN and coaching and keep all the profits. I mean for example, I pay my coach like $50 for a video review of my session, maybe twice a month (probably less now) since March. I've probably spent something within the region of $400 for top class coaching by the top STT grinder of my game (this is very important), and kept all the profits (just took out $4000, leaving sufficient BR to continue my games).

If I joined Moshman, if I got $4000 then I'd give away $1300, probably more if you add in the cash bonuses and rakeback. I doubt I'd get that much profit tho with Moshman. There are tons of guys who will coach Non Turbo STTs (even my coach used to play them before he switched to Turbos) for a way better deal imo, I just think that giving a huge cut of your profits is a big price to pay.

its only 30% with a coach and you get to kep rake back, but yeah 30% is quite alot.. when u consider your bad months... but what can i do i cant afford for the top coachs at my stakes... plus i would like some constructive feedback on my game..

What I'm trying to say is that $50 a session is waaay cheaper then Moshman coaching deal.

yeha i know what ur saying... i guess your formula is based on actualy earnings.. but yeahi think $50 per session is pretty cheap though alot of coaches now days charge so much more...

staking for 9 mans is dumb unless you spent all your money on alcohol and drugs and you are skint like me Smile

Moshman is a really nice guy and takes care of his players. I met him and a lot of his students that he was treating to dinner, they all seemed very happy.

yeah they seem pretty nice, just would be nice to get coached by moshman himself rather than some random SNG player

Puyan how long have been getting coached? Overall your stats are ok but over your last 2500 games they look kinda rough. I would definetly not be paying someone any kind of money for results like that. It looks like you were doing better on your own. Im not trying to be rude just thinking maybe you should look for someone else.

are you talking to me or puyun ?

El Wayneo read the first line of my paragraph to answer your own question. But since you brought it up, i dont think you should take the deal. You dont make that much as it is and 30 percent is kind of high.
