the last 15

made it to last 15 of open last night.....(500 runners i think)

and had some awful cards for about 5 rounds of blinds........(30 hands)

left with three bb got raised all in by sb......looked at my j8 thouhgt i need to make a stand....called he showed k7 and no j or 8 on board.......

i dont think this was a great play...but there does come a time where you have to get busy...or u aint getting anywhere......i would be interested in peoples comments for the worst hand you would call sb raise with 2 or 3 bb s left.....

played one 33 dym....went swimming ly until 10 10 ran into 55 and he hit 5 on turn.....then with another sudden dry spell of cards ended up with 3 bb s and raised all in again for the 6th time in 6 rounds by sb.... i look at j10........

and again make a decision to take a stand.....probably wrong in 4th place......

he turned k5 and no j or 10 came on board....

so this week have laernt two lessons.....dont call all in with AQ even if they are suited.....and dont call an all in with j high.....

Its allways better to push to let the ''difficult decision'' too ur oponent versus u make a difficult decision and call an ''allin''.

With only 2 or 3 BBs left you're priced in to call with pretty much ATC there lol. Folding J8 wouldve been absolutely horrific. Assuming you have 3 BBs behind having posted one, then youve got to call 3 BBs for what is currently a 5 BB pot giving you almost 2 to 1; J8 is an easy call lol.

If you meant you had 3 BBs before posting then you're going to be calling 2BBs into a 4BB pot giving you 2:1 exactly. If i'm honest i can say with some confidence that it was a mistake even getting to that spot; you should have been looking to shove it in pretty liberally as soon as you got to a stack of 10 BBs and below. For you to allow it to get to this desperate stage and then still be adopting ROT over J8 demonstrates that you need to become more familiar with hand equities and how to play the short stack.

that was best hand i had in over hr......was 10 5,3 6,74,85,92, all night....not a queen or jack or king or ace in sight...

maybe i should move to sky Smile

I wouldn't have waited to get blinded down to 3 bb, I mean even if you double/triple up, you're looking at 6/9 bb, any decent stack can call you w/ marginal hands even then. Gotta start shoving even crappy hands just for the blinds, 85/74/36 definately shovable w/ position if you're short stacked. that's just my opinion

You call anything with 2 or 3 BBs remaining from the BB. Don't even look at your cards. They could be UNO cards, it's a call.
