2790 runners...and i make the final table just to donk it away..
Hi all,been away for a bit playin at the casino ,improving my game....and last night it must have worked ,had some of the best cards i ever had and to cut a long story short made the final table of a 2790 runner 10 dollar buyin......
had 900k in chips with blinds at 25/50k ante 5k
anyway first hand am in sb and get k3 suited....
goes round gets one caller...and i dont why ...maybe after 7 hrs of play i was just happy to be there but,made a careless fold.....bb checks flop comes down k3 5 .....xxx i think to myself ....bb bets 175k seat 3 calls.....turn is a q......bb bets seat 3 calls river is 2....bb bets seat 3 calls......bb shows q10 seat 3 k10.....grr i think ....anyway a couple of players go out......and i get kq hearts on button....now i have 850 k chips and i push.....it was a bad play because a 3x or 4 x bet would not have left me pot committed...and as chip leader was on bb it makes more sense.....he calls with 66 and i get no help on board.....
so i go out in 7th....
am annoyed at myself for playin that long and making such a basic mistake....
so word of advice....use bet size more appropriately.....am actually kickin myself in head as we talk........

well,i can see your point,but with more than 15 bb i still think i should have 3x the bet and maybe seen the flop before pushing...the main point i am making is that with a push,i have committed my whole tournement life,to a coin flip......and i personally think that unless you have kk or aa,its not the right play......
with 7 players i was looking to win the tournement,and had i won this flip i would have been in good shape......

lol your fold with K3s is fine, not careless at all. If you go completing trash BvB with blinds like these youre just going to be leaking your stack away. What if you completed and it came Kxx vs the guy's KT? What then? You lose at least one bet, potentially more. It's a spot where the reverse implied odds are bad, you're OOP and you have trash, so dumping it is standard.
KQs shove sounds fine too, you're being massively ROT about the whole thing. Idk what blinds were but if they were 25k/50k @ 5k and its 7-handed then the starting pot is 110,000. Shipping and adding that 110k to your stack is huge. A small raise is stupid, especially with the bigstack on the BB because he can call a small raise pretty wide and leave you lost when you don't flop a pair.
If you 3x it and fold to a shove then youve left yourself 700,000 chips which is just horrible. There's no way you can raise/fold at this depth. Taking the 110k down is massive relative to your stack, and the best way to ensure this is to maximise your fold equity by shoving.
