^^^ So apparently, here, you're better off shoving preflop than 3-betting small in order to eliminate the possibility of me 4-betting. Because of the stacks, the right play for me is to fold if you shove. However, you made the right call after committing to that initial 3-bet. Regardless, it was a tough spot for both of us.
Yeah, like I said at the table, I wasn't complaining. I just wasn't 100% sure if that was the optimal ICM call but looking over it again, you had too.
But, yeah, even if i 4-bet junk, I think the last thing you want to see there is two live cards when the bubble is so close to being over. You know I'm NEVER flatting you there, so isn't shoving most optimal?
And come on, I would NEVER 4 bet you with junk :P Okay, maybe once.
By the way, do you call if i open shove?
I have no clue. I have never used sng wiz before. The only programs I have running while playing are Table Ninja and Holdem Manager. I'll add Table of Interest to that list when I snag my new PC in a couple of weeks.
The ICM thing, I follow loosely. Some players look for exact ranges and cards, which I think takes away from the opportunity to make personalized reads. I don't treat the ICM concept as this rigid thing. Rather, I think of it in terms of being aware of your stack and the stacks of others at various times in the game, as well as knowing how much power or lack of power your position holds at any instant. I also know that it means passing on possible +cEV situations in favour of +$EV expectations.
Hey, I finally got what your name means lol. At first, I thought it was some other language but I realize that its catheter + chris! Is this because you piss in large apple juice containers during long sessions?
Peace,
Pinko the Panther
Hey Cath, sorry about the beats. Unlucky
Yeah, I'm trying to get used to Table of Interest. Its this poker program that allows you to combinate tiles and stacks so that you can increase your multi-tabling capacity. Thrash loves it. So far, its putting me on tilt though. I hope I adjust soon. If you want to see it in action, they have a video on their website:
Okay, now that i have worked out the kinks and getting used to intensity of it all, I am loving TOI! You're right though, the video sucks balls and the techno music needs to go. Actually, part of the reason why it was so hard to adjust to was because the video and site do not act enough like a tutorial. So, basically you're figuring out how to best use TOI through trial and error. But, now that i have it all worked out and I'm up to 24 tables per session (was doing 15 before). Hopefully, I can push my limits even higher!
can everyone just leave me alone ?
i was playing everyone of u guys today... multiple tables multiple regs... it made me play a little differntly... anyway im gonna try and get up earlier and just never play at those stupid hours on STARS!!
and hey do u guys often chop the HU matches ? cause ive chopped one HU before... thought it might have being alittle gutless..
Wayne
Oh sorry I didn't get back to you, saw your email the other day and said i'd email you after my session. I charge $150 per hour, this is non negotiable unfortunately, getting a peak at my video is a more cost effective way of getting coaching.
I currently don't Wayneo as they're very time consuming and the last 2 I did went horribly.
Back to Catheterchi, you're spending the money so how we spend the time is up to you. I generally coach one of three ways, 1) as you said I watch you play and kind of walk you through playing, (Best for Kinesthetic learners, not many of those out there) 2) We review a hand history of a SNG you play and talk about things you did well, things you could do differently (best for Auditory learners). 3) You watch me play and I talk about concepts while you see them in action, get to ask questions on the fly (best for Visual learners)
The last 2 methods are by far the most popular, people's first thought of when they think of coaching is me ghosting them until I list the other options. Again it's your time so you can even come up with a different plan then the one listed, hell you can pay me $150 a hour to 40 table 1.20 DoNs if you wanted to (although I might hate you for it)
sick... your gonna be coached by thrash soon... i better be careful next time i play you...
and oh btw SNG wiz has improved my game in a big way...! you should definately use it!.. its just nice to have some thing to refer to when ur running bad and questioning the way you play... plus using the maths of the game to understand what hands to shove when to shove them.... i find this part the most helpful... cause sometimes 2% difference in a villians calling range can result in folding certain hands... its the strangest thing... but i feel that knowing this you start to understand what plays becomes high variance plays
another thing i would like to add.. is... i only use SNG wiz as a guildline.. cause i find that there are strategical plays that will trump sng wizards decisions... so imo.. this is where sng wiz stops being helpful...
