Multi-Tabling

Tagged:

So I have always 6 tabled my 9 man SnG's and can do so with full player reads. Today I stepped it up to 8 tables at a time, and though it was a bit more frantic, I still feel I was able to get my player reads.

For the people that multi-table their faces off, how many tables do you think it is when you lose your reads of players? I don't want to become one of those players that just grinds a nickel out of each game and does it a million times. I still want to play poker, you know?

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I usually have eight games at a time, and when I get busted in one I get another going. When I'm in crunch time in a few at a time, I will not start any others until those finish, bc that's when you really need to get better reads.

If you can do six I'm sure you can do eight. Check out this site:

It talks about how you can expect your roi to decrease as you add tables, but your hourly earning to go up. Like you said, it's a matter of whether you want to mass table and make a few more bucks, or play less games, probably win a few more, and make a little less.

TableNinja FTW Imho, your hourly rate is paramount. And to get your $/hr up ya gotta add tables. Table Ninja is a godsend. As for reads, I think the important stats to watch are VPIP, PFR, and 3betPF.

hey dudley, what exactly do you use table ninja for? i just got a free trial version of it and wonder what features u use....thnx

I like that it activates the table that you mouse over. This way, I don't have to try too hard to get my mouse right on the 'fold' button...I can just slide the cursor over real quick, and use any of the shortcut keys I've set up. Right now I use A, S, D, F, and SPACEBAR. A=allin, S=bet/raise, D=call, F=fold, SPACEBAR=fold to any. I also use the pot% betting for each street. I like how TableNinja highlights the tables that need attention too. I like the 1 click SNG registration and it automatically closes the tourney lobby too. And it can click the time bank button for you, if needed.

I think this is a quite personal thing. I reckon I can play 3 without any effect on my ROI but then it plummets when I add more tables. I play poker for the fun of the game not profit so I usually 3-table turbos and 6-seaters and 4 table regulars. if I was to play for the money alone I'd play more tables but I'd probably quickly get very stressed and start to hate poker.

I feel that 10 is optimal for me, and I stop registering once games start getting short handed.

I am a crazy multi tablerrr lol! Playing 18 tables per set right now, I probably could do more but my laptop starts to lag! I play a mix of $6s and $16s right now and yes mass multi tabling is crazy, and table ninja is a must! HUD is a must too, but uber geniuses like spacegravy can still kill it without...

Noting is very important, and it might seem impossible but what I do is that I will use the replayer to open up on the side, so that I can note whilst play is still going on. And I use a short code for noting of course, and color coding.

Table Ninja is fantastic, I use 2.5 pf raise size, and right click for shoving. Its so much easier to make those uncomfortable shoves when playing this many tables, you don't have to sweat the showdowns if it happens, you have no time! You just make you decision and move on to the next one. Another big feature that TN has is that it will reclick the rejoin button if you time out. Nothing worse then playing a bunch of tables to realise that you've been folding all your hands in one.

I use a double stacked style on my widescreen which is an extension to my laptop, 9 on each side. Sometimes I like to have tables all over the place, but that's just to mix it up really...

All I gotta say is that multi-tabling is pretty much a skill. It takes time to learn it and you can build it up by adding more tables. I've probably gained a lot more experience at the tables in a short space of time by multi tabling, and to be honest I cant play without doing it, coz I love the action! Good luck!!
