my daily grind

ok so abt a month ago i had $4 left in my stars br. i decided to play 2 1.40 sng knockouts, (fully intending on losing my remaining br and switching to live tables opening up in chester in a few short weeks) and ended up winning both. now im up to $110. still playn the 1.40 sng knockouts. im following a fairly strict br guideline of no more than 2% of br on a sng. next level is 3.30 or so. basically i just wanted to start documenting my journey and would love feedback/convo w other players.

much love and good luck at the tables

Graph is dirty man. Good stuff GL

great job. It's always a pump up to start with a tiny roll and be able to climb day by day. I did the same thing in June, started with 50$, made it to $950 by end of the month. It's all about bankroll mgmt, and a little luck never hurts.

keep it going this month, good luck..

Love to see a sexy grind. The more micro the more sexier... just coz its harder, as in most people cant be arsed to do it.

Just wondering if you do any extra adjustments with the KO feature added to these games? Are opponents more gambly then normal?

thanks for the support guys! ill post todays results a lil later. its such a nice day im gonna go hit some balls at the driving range for a bit.

puyan- i love love love the ko feature!!!! and here is why.... if u look at my histogram u will notice that my profit is a bit under where my br is. this is due to the ko bountys not being counted for whatever reason. so a substantial amt of my profit has come from ko's. also we all run into the inevitable aa,kk, or whatever being cracked by (insert ridiculous holding here) which punches me out in a non payout position but maybe along the way i had one or two kos, which makes the loss not a 100% loss.

in terms of my approach to collecting kos..... initially in the beginning levels i dont really fight for them cause at that point there are many times where u will have to put ur whole stack in play and quite frankly chasing .25 on a 1.40 investment seems kinda silly. so i really start out the game as if it were a regular sng.

during the later stages when blinds are at the 50-100 level or greater i take this approach....

what is my chip position?? am i already paid? can i afford to possibly payoff a ss and still have enough chips to compete for first? what is the likelyhood of being reraised by another player? have the players between myself and my target been active? if they havent i usually throw a big bet out to discourage other players from trying to fight for the ko w me. many times a simple shove is my tactic. that way i dont have to worry abt post flop play and possibly folding if i fan. ( remember he who throws the first punch usually wins the fight!!!!) an example from yesterday...... five players left im on the button w 4500 or so. my target is ss and in the bb w roughly 700. sb has a lil over 2000 and seems to be taking a fairly tight conservative approach. the 2 players before me fold. i have 66...... now i wanna gamble w the bb and fight for his ko, but i def dont wanna be tangled up with the sb in post flop play. i decide i should shove, thinking that i could prolly push sb out of the way w most holdings w this move, but if he does call and i lose i can still function w 2500 left, (and who knows maybe i punish him too!!!). and i dont really care what bb has. best case he calls and i win, or he folds and i steal, if he wins well then good for him and i will try again soon! so the way i saw it most of the possible outcomes were good and the lesser than good outcomes werent really that bad soooooooo I ATTACK!!!! as it played out sb folds bb calls w AQs and misses...... HOWEVER.... if i had say 3000 chips and sb had 2200 and bb 900 i would prolly throw 900 out instead of pushing as we were not itm yet and 8bbs is not a lot to work w so i could fold if sb rr.

ive been asked this question before and have had a hard time explaining my thoughts on it. hope i answered what u were looking for. if not fire away again and ill do my best to clarify.

Haha, thanks for your reply was an interesting read! I'll take a "talker" over short answers anyday dude!

oh and at the micro level most players are all to willing to shove w or without ko feature. so in short yes and no hahaha!

sigh..... i played one set after dinner tonight and was thoroughly donked out of 4 games very quickly. ended losing a lil under 2 dollars. kinda tired and a lil frustrated w both my hacking at the range today and my results. thinkn im gonna call it a day and head out w the felllas for some beer n whiskey!

any comments on my approach puyan?

heres the best approach, don`t play tired.or whilst drinking or smokin`,well never mind the latter it never bothers me Wink ,good luck but remember play when your feelin good and nothing on your mind but poker and you`ll continue to do fine!!

agreed. im pretty good about judging my attentiveness. and am quick to call it a day if im gettn sloppy.
