Cash game heater!
And about time too! My first blog post explained that most of the first ~$200 that i earned playing poker was from cash games, as this used to be my sole source of income.
Ever since i started grinding MTTs and STTs and profiting through those instead, ive been unable to get a cash heater going. Whenever ive popped to 10NL for a quick run ill rapidly drop a buy in flipping QQ vs AKo, or getting my KK in vs 77's flopped set etc..
Anyway, i was growing to be pretty fed up with them, but then i downloaded Realtime HUD and returned to cash games. It was quite a novelty being able to see the stats floating around my screen, and my first night with it saw me +$32 at a single 10NL table (3 buy-ins o_o).
It cant really be put down to the HUD though... some guy who was running at like 7/2 opened to 30c UTG. I had TT on my BB and figured his range was super-super tight for doing this. It folded around to me and i flatted the 20c, to see a T high rainbow flop. I checked and he checked behind, with a K coming off on the turn. So from here i figured he either has AK, which now has hit, or he's trying some bizzare AA "trap". Either way i decide to lead, and we end up getting it in 150 BBs deep each. River is a J and i take the $30 pot, he flips over AA to confirm my suspicions. Then some guy bought in with $10, 3bet my KK with AJo and got it in vs me, so i put it down to just a freak run and happily pocketed the $32.
But then the next day i came out +$18.80, after some more insane stuff. Some guy bought in with $4.50 and announced he was shipping his first hand, no matter what it was. I picked up AsKs and stacked him off. Then two people both bought in for $6, and got dealt ATo and 77 respectively. I got QQ, and so 3bet the raise to something like $1.50. ATo called, 77 shipped and i snap-called. Somehow ATo found the call and i scooped the $18 pot.
And now this morning i fuond myself picking up more big pairs. After beating down two flops with KK i picked up AdTd in the cutoff. I opened it to 40c, and the SB (who i'd taken out on the flop twice with kings) flatted. The flop came down 6d Ts 2d, so ive flopped the dogs balls basically. He checks, i lead for 60c and he suddenly ships $11 over the top! I snap, 3d hits the turn and then a blank ace the river. He flips KdQd for the second-nut flush and i take the pot. Gotta love tilt i guess. Although c/r'ing that spot is correct there, and i think if he lasts to the turn he stacks off anyway.
So a cash heater of $62, just what i needed to get back into the swing of things! And it boosts my roll nicely to over $700 too ^^
I'm finding realtime HUD to be pretty damned helpful as well, its always funny to see people running at stupid rates like 80/0 or the 7/2 guy who only played big pairs.

Nice session! Interesting to read. I also play and earn some money. Last month i bought comfort zone infrared heater on my earnings! So now i play in warmly!

Great session! Sounds like it was your turn.
