August 2010
Had a pretty crappy month in terms of my focus in august. I got flattened at $50NL for 10 buy-ins in about 2000 hands which was pretty insane, and after that I felt like I needed to take a break. I think I burnt myself out in july a bit with all the hands I played (and the constant analysing of HHs, watching training vids... etc) and then suddenly getting knocked for $500 kinda winded me.
I made a return later in the month but basically broke even in that time. My lifetime graph for $50NL now is about -3BI in 9500 hands, but its not something im really worried about. Here's how my stats break down for UB so far:
$25NL: 35,000 hands, +$362. EV is +$450.
$50NL: 9,500 hands, -$155. EV is -$250.
$100NL: 800 hands, +$450. EV is +$820.
So... yeah, I played some $100NL. I don't really restrict myself to a specific stake level anymore, I just scour the $50NL/$100NL tables for the worst players and sit there. Made around $300 yesterday playing the $100NL because I found a maniac pulling crazy bluffs etc. He was so bad that I was comfortable calling a 3bet with TT and then calling down 200BBs deep on an undercard board, lol. He sucked out on me a few times (like 44 > TT for $400 O__o) but I still finished +$300, though my EV was $750 for the session.
One final bit of news, played a few MTTs on UB as they had their UBOC series in august. Cashed both the ones I played - I finished 10th/1050 in a $22 event (which i got into for UB points) for $220 and 31st/950 in some $16.50 KO thing for a profit of $35. Both started at 1 in the morning and went on fairly early. 10th was really crushing in the first one; I had ~10BBs and jammed BvB with 32o. Snapped off by T9s and the board ran out 3JJJT to bust me - pretty sick! The 6max I was KO'd in 31st AJ < AT, with the board running out JQT5T... again the ten of hearts on the river sending me to bed earlier than i'dve liked!

nice work on the profit, keep it up
