Platinum Star! and Feb Goals

Yes, January is gone and in the last week I grinded my ass off the $6 Turbo SNGs and managed to get platinum status now. From the 22nd Jan, I had played a total of 1430 SNGs to get enough points for Platinum. That's an average of 130 a day, for 11 days, 14 tabling.

Its been a while since I last blogged... really been working hard at my game. There comes a point where you have to really ask yourself, "What do I need to do to get to the next level?", and the answer is most certainly ALWAYS to get help. And asking for help is not easy. I know. But to be the best you learn from the best, and that's what every great player has done, pokerwise, sports wise, career wise!

Who's the DON?? Not me! I'm down $670 at these $6 Turbos, and has never had a winning week at them. Despite killing the $3s, its bigger brother has really had its revenge and had me whacked! (Trying to keep the mobster theme going)

Gonna take a break from the Turbo SNGs for a week or so, gonna do a few reviews and plug some leaks. Honestly, most of the time when I hit a big downswing its usually because I lose over 50% of the flips, never suck out, get sucked out on a lot, and coolered bvb. But I must be doing something wrong, you cant hit this sick of variance in that many games.

I had my coaching session with Glitlr today. Really great humble instructor! He opened my eyes to a lot of spots and mistakes that I was making. He's also given me the reassurance over certain strategies that the winning pros are using. Truly nice guy and I'm looking forward to my next session with him.

100 SNGs

Today I decided to try and have a session of 100 $6 Turbo SNGs.

I wanted to test out the new things I had learned and apply it to a long session. I hoped that the variance would even out as well, and I figured I could get a fair assessment by doing this.

The session lasted nearly 6 and half hours and I lost $89.
1st - 7
2nd - 21
3rd - 21
Bubbles - 24

Small Win, But Still Lacking

Its been exactly a week since my coaching, and I'm pleased to say that I have finally booked a winning week in the $6's. For me, its a small victory, but after today's session dropping 12 buy ins it leaves a really sour taste in my mouth. Losing sessions really seem to hit me hard, and when you get continuous bad beats and bvb cooler hands and no suckout equity, it becomes another skill keeping a cool head and cutting your losses.

Yes, for sure, this has to be my worst month ever. I have been focusing on $6 Turbos on Stars and I am down $400 in just under 2000 games. Why anyone would logically continue playing these is beyond me. Oh wait, I am me! Guess I'm a true grinder, grindin' win or lose, and despite losing, I'm gonna keep at it until I'm a winner. Not moving up, as much as I want to, especially when its impossible to try and get Supernova at these stakes.
